Slander? If it's slander then why are they suing? I think the word 'likely' sort of negates the issue..

Otherwise, this is just slander. It isn't slanderous if it's true, and it's only slanderous if he says they did it, not merely accused them. And why would the writer have occasion to "take them court?" He's not a prosecutor, so he can't file criminal charges. He could sue them civilly, but what's his cause of action? Where is his standing to sue? He lacks both standing to sue and a cause of action. If they did sue him for slander, he would have the right to sit them down and take their video taped depositions. These assholes won't even talk under oath to the congress, and you think they're going to sue for slander in civil court? Stick to using words you understand.
