Police investigating shooting at Reno apartment complex

Reno police are investigating a shooting at a downtown apartment complex Sunday night.

The incident happened at the Southwest Village apartment complex on South Virginia Street around 11:00 PM.

Investigators say the 18-year-old victim was standing in the parking lot with two friends when they were approached by three to four Hispanic men in a vehicle. They say one of the suspects pulled a gun and shot the man in the upper torso.

Officers say the case is currently being investigated as a gang related incident. The victim was taken to Washoe Medical Center where he is being treated for his injury.
