Between 9:03 and 9:37 a.m. September 11, 2001: Defense Official at Pentagon Says, ‘We’re Next’ After the second WTC tower is hit, NBC News correspondent Jim Miklaszewski is heading down a hall inside the Pentagon when he runs into a Defense Department official. The official says he doesn’t yet know anything specific about the attack. But, he says, it is so coordinated that “[i]f I were you I would stay off the E-ring [the outermost corridor of the Pentagon] today, because we’re next.” According to Miklaszewski, the official had no specific information, “that was just his gut instinct.” [Gilbert et al., 2002, pp. 43] Entity Tags: Jim Miklaszewski

9:39 a.m. September 11, 2001: Media Reports Pentagon Explosion Two seconds after 9:39 a.m., reporter Jim Miklaszewski states on NBC News: “I don’t want to alarm anybody right now, but apparently, there—it felt, just a few moments ago, like there was an explosion of some kind here at the Pentagon. We’re on the E-ring of the Pentagon. We have a window that faces out toward the Potomac, toward Kennedy Center. We haven’t been able to see or—or hear anything after the initial blast. I just stepped out in the hallway. Security guards were herding people out of the building, and I saw just a moment ago as I looked outside, a number of construction workers who have been working here, have taken flight. They’re running as far away from the building as they can right now. I—I hear no sirens going off in the building; I see no smoke, but the building shook for just a couple of seconds. The windows rattled and security personnel are doing what they can momentarily to clear this part of the building. Again, I have no idea whether it was part of the construction work, whether it was an accident or what is going on. We’re going to try to find those details and get them to you as soon as possible. But interestingly enough, one intelligence official here in the building said when he saw what appeared to be the coordinating attack on the World Trade Center, his advice was to stay away from the outside of the building today just in case.” [NBC, 9/11/2001] However, no media outlets record video footage of the Pentagon crash, and the cause of the crash remains unknown for some minutes afterward. Miklaszewski has always been a good newsman. I wonder why this didn't get out earlier.

Words have meaning. Note he did not say: ...because we might be next. No. The DOD intelligence official said:

Jim Miklaszewski should have testified before a Congressional hearing under oath and told the American people the name of the Pentagon intelligence official and then the official should have been called and placed under oath.

Consider placing yourself in the shoes of the planner of 9/11 and assume for a moment the Bush version of 9/11 is accurate. Assume the planner of such a diabolically brilliant plan was smart enough to know the exterior walls of the Pentagon were the most hardened part of the structure.Just plain common sense,right? Would the planner instruct the pilot that demonstrated incredible skill on 9/11 to strike the exterior hardened wall or would the planner make full use of the maneuverability and destructive power of a fully fueled airliner and instruct the skilled pilot to fly into the center of the Pentagon? How could anyone unaware of the plan conclude that the attack would be on the E-ring? Didn't the practice scenario used in exercises at the Pentagon plan on a plane crashing into the center of the Pentagon, the worse case scenario because there would be restricted access for fire fighting equipment?

That is why it appears whoever told him had actual knowledge. Why wouldn't an airplane aim for the center? It went out of its way to hit the one spot it hit, which just happened to be the reinforced portion.
That center looks kinda soft. A nose dive?

Excellent point! No real terrorist would have attacked the outside of the E-ring.
