Wealth is the absolute God of America and no other gods shall appear before It. 99% of the national/international policies of America are orchestrated by Gods and Goddesses with astronomical wealth (i.e., the one percent pig, pig rich). Politics is an army of enablers who are part of the problem, not the solution. It has always been so. Look at moral cockroaches like Happy Hillary Clinton or Judas Joe Lieberman. They do everything but lick the feet of their Greek God like masters. In Dante's Inferno, they would be about 5 levels down with their Bush/Republican soul mates. (2.) For the last 20 or so years the neocon lobby (e.g., the AIPAC) has been pulling the strings of American foreign policy. Our great country is a cowed dog wagged by the tail of this lobby (a lobby NOT lobbying for the United States of America!). Here again "money talks", and practically every American politician (state, local, or national), wets his/her pants at the thought of being attacked by such institutions as the infinitely self righteous and limitlessly wealthy AIPAC. Perhaps we should rename our country the United States of the AIPAC. (3.) Probably eventually international statisticians will discover that America is dragging around more dead weight religious fanatics that any other country on the planet. You don't read much about death-wishing Armageddon air heads in any other country, so maybe we are at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to this species of DUH. Of course, in one sense it shouldn't come as a big surprise since these goose stepper for God are just what England tried to banish to the American continent a few hundred years ago. Unfortunately, they turned out to be efficient Indian killers and multiplied like rabbits, and now we have a "president" whose IQ is right down there with barnyard animals. In any event, there's certainly no question that pamphlet-brained religious fanatics qualify as cancer number 3. (4.) Our Tweedlee Dee and Twedlee Dumber "2 Party System" is an absolute masterpiece of obfuscation (look it up George) and much ado about nothing. Our "elected representatives" are obsessed with their not so secret sex lives and meaningless photo ops and do the ABSOLUTE MINIMUM for what we worked so hard to elect them for. Most dems would willingly wear Bush paper masks to work if they thought it would protect them from the AIPAC. Admittedly, most of them wouldn't be willing to sink the cowardly recycled hypocrisies of the Carville/Clinton./DLC Doll: "I hate/love Republicans. "I'm for/against the Iraq War." "I'm patriotically opposed to gum chewing in public." In a sense, Hillary Clinton is our 2 party system incarnate, since she never says anything without also saying the exact opposite. (5.) And last but not least is the Judas American media. How could we have been so criminally irresponsible that we allowed people like Rupert Murdoch (not even originally an American citizen!) to brainwash whoever gives even a second of two to the journalist excrement massed produced by sites like Fox Snooze. And not to forget "clear channel", that obscene contradiction in terms. And on and on and on and on. WHATEVER may happen on the political scene, we still have to deal with the ghastly fact that 90% of what passes for "news" is Nazi-like propaganda. We're lucky if we get a television anchor who has even passed a GED, and yet this intellectual dwarf is "preaching" to us about would events. And yes, many of us see them as the fascist collaborators which they truly are, but we've still got millions of Americans out there (alas) in la la land who think that national television is the voice of god (big G or little g -- take your pick). The problem is that this cancer has metastasized to our entire media body and it's going to be very, VERY hard to dig it out. Hence, hope here, is pretty much 100% the Internet. Hopefully many (most?) of us already more or less know these things, but "half" knowing something can be as useless as not knowing it at all, since we aren't having an "intellectual conversation"; we are talking about life and death matters -- for ourselves, our country, our children, and our raped and dying planet. ********************************************************************** W.
