In remarks made Wednesday to the Associated General Contractors of America, President Bush defined his view of the success in Iraq that he hopes to accomplish.

"Either we'll succeed, or we won't succeed," he said. "And the definition of success as I described is sectarian violence down. Success is not no violence."
While saying "succeed," Bush appears to chuckle.
The president then compared Iraq to the United States, saying that there were parts of the US with "a certain level of violence," but that "people feel comfortable about living their daily lives" in those areas. That level of violence, said Bush, is what the US is aiming to achieve in Iraq.
At a White House Press Briefing later in the day Suzanne Malveaux of CNN asked Press Secretary Tony Snow to clarify what would constitute an "acceptable level of violence."
"That's a very good question," replied Snow. "I don't have an answer."
Earlier in the press conference Snow also compared Iraq to the US, saying "Washington for many years was the murder capital of the United States of America. I believe we are still able to do our jobs. Now, really what he's [President Bush] talking about -- he's talking about that."
The fact that military casualties continue to mount means about as much to Bush as pulling the legs off a live frog, which he reportedly did as a youngster. That is a clear sign of sociopathic tendencies. Now, if we could get him to adopt suicidal tendencies... (and I'm not referring to the band of that name).

I'm so glad there is a vid with this article. It's really hard to believe this guy is allowed to remain in place. I'm waiting to see him in one of these settings and to suddenly see a cane appear and yank him out by the neck.
Is there a video of Bush calling himself the "commander guy"? That was in the same speech, wasn't it?
To reason, indeed, he was not in the habit of attending. His mode of arguing, if it is to be so called, was one not uncommon among dull and stubborn persons, who are accustomed to be surrounded by their inferiors. He asserted a proposition; and, as often as wiser people ventured respectfully to show that it was erroneous, he asserted it again, in exactly the same words, and conceived that, by doing so, he at once disposed of all objections. - Macaulay, "History of England," Vol. 1, Chapter 6, on James II.
Say, aren't those Britney Spear's yellow panties? ;-)

I've been checking him out on Mondays...every Monday when he has a speech or press confrence he looks like 20 miles of bad road...really drugged out or hung over. Later in the week he begins to look better...prolly B12 shots are working.
