Jon Stewart does a Daily Show take on Fox News' recent Republican debate.

In a clip from the start of the debate, Fox's Brit Hume intones, "This event is being sponsored by Fox News and the South Carolina Republican Party." Quips Stewart, "Isn't that redundant?"

Correspondent Jason Jones tells Stewart "you must've stepped out for one heckuva pee" to miss a "career-ending blooper" by Mitt Romney, who said (in a series of clips pieced together out of context), "I support a global jihadist effort to bring down the West, and it's critical to have marriage as a relationship between one man and al-Qaeda."

Stuart skirts the edges of the false Beltway debate parameters on occassion and can be provocative but . . . . he always comes home to spout the BS beltway line at the end of the day.

I don't think so. He may not go far enough in his criticism, but he's no ABC/CBS/CNN/FOX news.

I was almost in disbelief over the monumental effort made by both the Daily Show and Colbert to exclude any mention or image of Paul when "covering" (that's the word alright) the debate. At least after the first debate Daily Show gave him honerable mention as "Mister Pickles". But this time left me going to bed really pissed off. Not a good thing.

Maybe John Oliver on the Daily Show will do a decent job with Ron Paul, if he gets a chance. He did that wonderful "Fizrael" segment.
