Judging from the tone of the callers into C-Span, I'd say that 90% of the general (legal) population is outraged by the senate new amnesty proposal. Listen hear -
FR is now openly calling for the removal of W from office.
I should be interesting to see how the lying crooks in congress try to sell this amnesty bullshit to the public when the public is already having a very negative reaction.
I almost fell out of my chair when Brian Lamb had a "Don't call me Shirley" (or maybe a freudean slip) moment and called Lindsey Graham, Lesley.

I think the reaction of the public is dead-on.
This is not an Amnesty bill. It is a complete surrender package.
If you read the bill you'll notice it is a total set-up for the SPP. A few choice examples:
- Partnering Mexico's universities with our own. - Funding studies of "Why is Mexico poor?" - Funding infrastructure improvements in Mexico - Includes the 'DREAM' Act so future illegals get subsidized college tuition - Protects Mexico's southern border
And my personal favorite:
- Binational policing!
What does any of this have to do with a US Immigration overhaul?
Since the public is reading the bill (or at least a 10 day old version of it) they are quickly coming unglued over it and rightly so. No amount of spin can cover the "subject to the availability of appropriations" parts in the enforcement sections -- whereas the giveaway parts are all mandatory.
