As opponents from the right and left challenge an immigration bill before Congress, there is broad support among Americans — Democrats, Republicans and independents alike — for the major provisions in the legislation, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll.

This is a great example of advocacy journalism, and one of the main reasons Reid, et al, delayed the vote on the bill in the Senate. They initially met some resistance, but over the course of the next month expect lots and lots of pro-illegal articles like this. The dopey sheeple....it's soooooooo over.

I think question 61 asks if illegal aliens should be prosecuted and 69% say yes. I think the poll shows people don't hate illegal aliens, and that they try not to be cruel to them, but that they don't like them here.

I'd like to know who is participating in these polls. Certainly they aren't asking me - my phone does not ring with their calls.

In California they say 80% of people advocate amnesty. No kidding. Dial any random number and you're likely to get an illegal in that state.

With the number of lawbreakers we have in this country, polls are useless.

America is not at war. The military is at war. America is at the mall and the Congress is out to lunch.

polls are used to shape public opinion. They have no validity since we have no idea who is polled, if anyone at all. This particular poll is pure propaganda.
