Activism See other Activism Articles Title: THE BATTLE IS LOST! - OR HAS IT JUST BEGUN? Passage of the so-called Real ID Act has triggered a flood of emails and Internet editorials claiming that this is the end of the line. The battle for freedom is lost. We are now living in a police state. So give up. The New World Order is here. Yesterday, we even received a resignation from a member who said that there is no use in continuing the fight. Well, I have news for everyone with this point of view. The battle is not lost. It has just begun! Where have these people been for the past twenty years? National ID cards are not the end of the line. They are merely one more step in an ongoing process toward totalitarianism. The New World Order became a reality when the UN was created. What we have witnessed since then is the gradual building and strengthening of its structure. This is just one more building block. That does not mean that government ID cards and the control over people they will allow is to be dismissed as inconsequential. To be sure, this is an extremely grave development and certainly will impact the freedom of every citizen in the next few years. But the ray of hope from Freedom Force is that we have our sights on the far bigger picture. Instead of focusing on a constant parade of specific issues, such as this, and instead of clinging to the fantasy that meaningful victories are possible, we recognize that the rush toward totalitarianism is not going to change so long as collectivists are in control of the major power centers of society. Therefore, our primary effort must be directed, not at putting out the fires, but at removing the arsonists who are setting the fires. And we also recognize that this is not going to happen quickly. We have the long view of history and realize we are building for the future. Many who are alarmed over world events believe that the appropriate response is to send letters of petition to the very people who are making those events happen. Then, when their voices are ignored, they collapse in a heap of despair, murmuring that the battle for freedom is lost. It is our job to show these good people that the reason they lost those battles is that they did not engage the enemy on the battlefield. While they were writing letters of protest from the comfort of their homes, the real battle was raging in the power centers of society - the groups and organizations that shape the political and social policies of the nation. The battle will continue there for many decades to come, even in the New World Order. Members of Freedom Force will be there and, ultimately, will prevail.

Frankly- I don't think this national ID card will come about. This has phoney issue written all over it. No such card is necessary. We have a national ID- it is called your Social Security number (and opponents at the time of the creation of the social security number said that it would become a national ID number- and had read into the legislative record that it would not be allowed too- lol). Why do I suspect that the "Conservatives" in the Senate will quash this and "Save the day" and "strike a blow" for freedom?
