As soon as the US withdrew, Vietnam and China had a war. So much for the domeinos.

Today it is a pleasant place to visit, very friendly, by nearly all accounts.

It was a 3 way war between Vietnam, China, and Cambodia. Vietnam Was backed by the USSR. Cambodia backed by Red China. Pol-Pot invades a unified Vietnam and Vietnam kicks there asses. China invades in retaliation because of the rift between the USSR and china at the time.

As for "bombing them back into the stone age." How many times did the US do that? How many "cease fires" were signed only to be broken later like Tet.

Of course, jokes on them. Now all the Vietnamese people have to look forward to is making trinkets for the "rounds eyes" at slave labor level prices. Looks like wall street did what the Pentagon could not.
