Surprise, surprise. The internet thinks that Ron Paul won the debate last night. What is the deal with his supporters? Are they just a bunch of IT guys who have built little voting programs to stuff the ballot on behalf of their man?

CNN has a poll right now asking about last night’s debate. Ron Paul leads the field by a wide margin in each of the following questions:

1) Who do you think won the debate?

2) Who seemed to know most about the issues?

3) Who had the best one-liner or comeback?

4) Whose performance was most surprising?

5) Whose campaign got the biggest boost from the debate?

And of course he is not leading this question: 1) Who had the most disappointing performance at the debate?

Seriously folks, what is the deal? How could anyone in their right mind think Ron Paul won last night’s debate? The guy barely got 20 words in the whole time. I think it actually diminishes Ron Paul’s message for his supporters to so obviously stuff the ballots in these polls that can be manipulated. Real polling shows Ron Paul in a dead heat with “other” and Mickey Mouse, so it’s obviously a farce for him to be leading in these online polls.

And as a funny aside, not surprisingly, Ron Paul isn’t leading the polling for this question “Who was the snappiest dresser?” Apparently suave Mitt Romney just beat out Ron Paul’s cheap suit and crooked tie.

The mainstream press seems to think that the big three (McCain, Giuliani, and Romney) all had strong performances last night. Also, Mike Huckabee was a pleasant surprise. His sharp wit and gentle demeanor seemed to please a lot of folks. That being said, he still has very little shot at winning the nomination. So let’s please narrow the field down before the next debate.

You know, all you anybody-but-Paul fuckheads are going to deserve whatever regime is elected if it isn't Ron Paul. Hillary can beat any of the current Republicans EXCEPT Paul. But that doesn't matter to you does it? God knows you'd rather have Hillary Clinton than the only candidate with the will to use the constitution and save the republic. Yeah, you're gonna get the government that at least YOU deserve.

After 2008 don't go whining because the deadly poison you knowingly chose to ingest is now causing you agony. There is a case for compassion, but not for you.

hillary can't be any worse than what we have now. in reality, if she's (S) elected, she'll simply be the next conductor driving the train of destruction of America.

Yeah, I know. I was being a bit melodramatic for the partisan shill, who must after all be deathly afraid of the Clintons. Nonetheless, Paul is still the only Republican capable or likely to beat Hillary -- Getting Paul beyond the primaries is of course a great leap. Any way you look at it, a vote for anyone else but Paul regardless of party is tantamount to signing America's death warrent.

I disagree with those who propose a Paul/Hunter ticket. It would never float. The war is Paul's number 1 issue, and Hunter wants to nuke Iran -- directly in conflict with what Paul says is the biggest moral issue of the day.

And please pardon the late response. I left for work during this thread only to discover to my horror that the computer wouldn't turn on when I got home. Next day I find out the motherboard is kaput. I'm having the motherboard replaced -- in the meantime I'm using a Windows 98 computer and dialup that I've had as a backup. Hopefully this won't be for too long

Same as Paul/Hunter. In fact, if anything Tancredo is even more rabidly pro-war than Hunter. Not to mention that he is the favored of Goldi-Lox. That should be a red flag right there.

In want someone to tell me how someone ( Ron Paul) ,ignored by the Republican Party, no matter how much YOU like them, is anticipated to receive the nomination of the Party for whom he ( Ron Paul) is a pimple on a flea's ass at best>

IMO I,you,we all are being sucked into a dog and pony show to make you feel you have "participated in the great American Democracy" despite the fact that the election is a rubes schtick and the Tribe of kazars anointed Hilliary in January and all she is doing is enjoying a year of coronation galas at your expense.

That said, I have Ron Paul bumper stickers on all my vehicles.

Do you ?

I thought not.

I don't drive. I don't want to support the oil industry any more than I have to.

I post a lot of Ron Paul stuff though.

I hope he wins. Maybe with enough faith and support, he will get nominated.

Certainly wouldn't hurt to try?

:^)

faith and support

That's like M said in one of the better James Bond books,

" I tried going to God in prayer but he tossed the whole damned mess right back in MY lap."

Then send money.

Mutual admiration and stroking from a keyboard will do as much as has been accomplished so far....

NOTHING !

Hate to burst your bubble but these damned keyboards are "distract the feeble" machines used well by the Big Brother Nanny State.

A forum is nothing more than a PlayStation unless some action ensues.

THAT was the power and difference of FreeRepublic in the late 1990s !!

Keyboard pounding without subsequent follow-up is the SOMA of the Brave New World . BTW, have you read it?

The first Law of Thermodynamics says :

In order to accomplish anything, you have to move your body.

....but the generation was taught "fiiliins' " and " jus' wishin' an' hopin' and plannin' an' dreamin'" .....and winning the lottery !!

Sorry to be brutal but that is in reality the wake up call.

Watch Ron Paul fulfill his role as fall guy to legitimize the Sovietized Election process of accepting a two-headed coin for the flip or sit it out....but one can always say...."but me an' my buddies had evvry poll on the rp,com site winnin' evvry lekktion'

I'd ain' owver fawht"

As the Usurpers Gloat and Sneer.

JC..

For one that is so active in politics, you seem to have NOT learned the basic premise of grassroots movements. Namely, NEVER piss off those that are with you or are potential allies.

That is exactly what you have accomplished with this rant. It was counter productive, and if you have the experience you cite, you will realize this yourself.

Being "brutal" as you characterize yourself gains nothing for Paul nor does it give incentive for anyone here to read your otherwise interesting posts.

LOL

have done pretty well in grassroots organizing and above for quite some time but thank you for the advice anyway... At this early but critical point in the cycle you take the wishers and I'll take the doers and we'll count votes on Election Day.

I kind of doubt that timeline....not the service.

There are points in an election cycle, fine timed points. At some you want this and at some you want that. You never want complacency or a lack of passion except for the shuttle drivers on Election Day.
