Surprise, surprise. The internet thinks that Ron Paul won the debate last night. What is the deal with his supporters? Are they just a bunch of IT guys who have built little voting programs to stuff the ballot on behalf of their man? CNN has a poll right now asking about last night’s debate. Ron Paul leads the field by a wide margin in each of the following questions: 1) Who do you think won the debate? 2) Who seemed to know most about the issues? 3) Who had the best one-liner or comeback? 4) Whose performance was most surprising? 5) Whose campaign got the biggest boost from the debate? And of course he is not leading this question: 1) Who had the most disappointing performance at the debate? Seriously folks, what is the deal? How could anyone in their right mind think Ron Paul won last night’s debate? The guy barely got 20 words in the whole time. I think it actually diminishes Ron Paul’s message for his supporters to so obviously stuff the ballots in these polls that can be manipulated. Real polling shows Ron Paul in a dead heat with “other” and Mickey Mouse, so it’s obviously a farce for him to be leading in these online polls. And as a funny aside, not surprisingly, Ron Paul isn’t leading the polling for this question “Who was the snappiest dresser?” Apparently suave Mitt Romney just beat out Ron Paul’s cheap suit and crooked tie. The mainstream press seems to think that the big three (McCain, Giuliani, and Romney) all had strong performances last night. Also, Mike Huckabee was a pleasant surprise. His sharp wit and gentle demeanor seemed to please a lot of folks. That being said, he still has very little shot at winning the nomination. So let’s please narrow the field down before the next debate.

By the way if we Paul supporters are SO few in number that only by "spamming" can the online polls numbers be so high, then I DARE you McCainiacs to attempt the same. Surely your real numbers are so high that you could easily outpoll Paul in online polls, right? But you can't, because you are limited to voting once just like Paul supporters. But don't let reality get in the way of avoiding the facts.

Lobbing around ICBMs is more tolerable because it won't interupt American idol or drive up the price of SUVs Ron Paul (and that other former Senator from Alaska on the "D" side) are the only ones who dare step outside the box and ask us to take a hard look at just what it is we are fighting for in the first place and if we should be fighting at all. That makes him a great threat to the MIC and the fear factory in DC who gut our rights in the name of defending us from CIA assets gone bad.

"Snappiest dresser" is subjective, but to people like "can of corn" I think we're safe in assuming it is a measure of money. Romney obviously had the most expensive clothes, but why the hell would anyone vote for him because of that? Shit, I'm as democratic as the next guy, but do we really need all this static? Maybe we can hold several elections at the same time, but once you show up you have to pick one and only one in which you wish to cast a vote.

At Tufts in Boston, a group of conservative students published a counterpoint article to offset the rosy view of Islam being depicted during Islamic Awareness Week. Their article highlighted the bigotry and violence associated with the Koran. What was the reaction to their counterpoint? Charges of harassment, and a guilty verdict by a panel of faculty and fellow students. Free speech is not tolerated at the majority of Universities if it differs from their extreme left wing ideology..... spooky!
