CHEAP LABOR? Isn't that what the whole immigration issue is about?

Business doesn't want to pay a decent wage.

Consumers don't want expensive produce.

Government will tell you Americans don't want the jobs.

But the bottom line is cheap labor. The phrase "cheap labor" is a myth, a farce, and a lie. There is no such thing as "cheap labor."

Take, for example, an illegal alien with a wife and five children.

He takes a job for $5.00 or $6.00/hour. At that wage, with six dependents, he pays no income tax, yet at the end of the year, if he files an Income Tax Return (And he will as he learns the rules), he gets an "earned income credit" of up to $3,200 free.

He qualifies for Section 8 housing and subsidized rent.

He qualifies for food stamps.

He qualifies for free (no deductible, no co-pay) health care.

His children get free breakfasts and lunches at school.

He requires bilingual teachers and books.

He qualifies for relief from high energy bills.

If they are or become, aged, blind or disabled, they qualify for SSI. Once qualified for SSI they can qualify for Medicare. All of this is at (our) taxpayer's expense.

He doesn't worry about car insurance, life insurance, or homeowners insurance.

Taxpayers provide Spanish language signs, bulletins and printed material.

He and his family receive the equivalent of $20.00 to $30.00/hour in benefits.

Working Americans are lucky to have $5.00 or $6.00/hour left after paying their bills and his.

The American taxpayers also pay for increased crime, graffiti and trash clean-up.

Cheap labor? YEAH RIGHT! Wake up people. I hope enough of you understand that this issue has nothing to do with cheap labor; it has to do with reducing America to the level of Mèxico so that the two nations can be joined together - along with Canada, of course - now, and later, merged into the NWO.)

THESE ARE THE QUESTIONS WE SHOULD BE ADDRESSING TO THE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES FOR EITHER PARTY.

'AND WHEN THEY LIE TO US AND DON'T DO AS THEY SAY, WE SHOULD REPLACE THEM AT ONCE!'

Oh nononono! You just don`t understand! We just need to build a fence on the border! That will take care of the problem! Oh, and hire another 250,000/500,000/maybe a million or so new cops! That's the ticket!

Ummmm. That is a thought! Where, do you suppose, THEY will get the next generation of police, willing to work cheaply, from? And, what do you suppose those police will be doing? And if you answer, working on the illegal immigration problem, then you ain't got a clue. In fact, I could say, you probably don't know s--- about illegal immigration. But hey! WHAT DO I KNOW!

Consumers don't want expensive produce.

While this is true, labor is such a miniscule component of produce production that it is negligible.

The labor component of, say, lettuce, is less than 5%. Paying a farmworker double minimum wage would increase the cost of a head of lettuce by about a nickel.

This has been completely debunked.

And....... your point would be?

Don`t discuss this with me; there have been posts on 4um describing how big meat processors ran buses to the border to pick up illegals, returned them to the meat-packing plants, dumped them off in front of the welfare/assisted housing government offices back near the meat packer's plants, and then hired them after they were all set-up.

Generally, if you pay any attention to the info, you can find the real reasons for using illegals; THEY CAN NOT GO TO THE GOVERNMENTAL AUTHORITIES AND REPORT ABUSES, UNSAFE WORKING CONDITIONS, UNCLEAN BUTCHERING AND/OR PACKING CONDITIONS, AND CAN NOT COLLECT WHEN INJURED ON THE JOB. And dozens of them have been injured on the job in numerous locations around the United States.

So....you suggest I read something I've already read. Interesting. Okay.

Its less about labor than it is about not wanting to invest in mechanization. Chew on this - the Japanese have a machine that can pick strawberries. But it involves a capital investment.

Likewise, there are machines now that pick oranges, lemons, peaches, and apples - and do a better job than human hands.

Now chew on this. Only a quarter of the agricultural labor force is "migrant" labor. What are the other 75%? Can you answer that?

Look, you're a disinformation shill. Get the facts and figures straight.

The problem keeps getting framed in cheap tomato picker terms, but it is also about a cheap source of labor for construction and factory work. If the American auto industry ever hopes to make a comeback, it will be done on the backs of cheap imported labor putting wage pressure and keeping a cap on UAW workers.

That said, when in the history of America hasn't LEGAL immigration been about cheap labor?

I think of two types of early immigration in our history, those seeking religious freedom (supposedly, they often wouldn't allow the same for others after they got here), and those fleeing economic oppression. The Virgina colony was the only colony founded just for investment purposes by investors in the Old World.

That said, 15 years ago a coworker and I were once speculating that when these two groups intersect (religion and economics), you have the very worst that America has to offer (the money-making television evangelists). Today they rear their ugly heads again, but with an added oily rapture twist.

I agree about the Catholics. Cardinal Mahony from LA? is deserving of the firing squad. Organized religion never fails to amaze me; I don't know one Catholic who agrees w/Mahony yet he's able to ape his opinions behind the cloak of the church. Where is their fear of separation of church and state re; illegals? Answer: it doesn't exist when their beliefs agree w/the state.

Exactly, which is why the apologists for illegal immigration need to be tagged as such. They aren't placing the blame where it belongs and are not holding people accountable for their own actions.

Mexico needs a populist revolution where the elites are dethroned.

The US cannot absorb them all without fracturing and tearing itself apart. So either the problem is solved or the US is going to get a lot more violent.

So you are claiming that the facts in this post are false? Interesting.

And your point about capital investment is what? No, why would they when they can do the labor much cheaper with illegals, and, never have to pay taxes on them nor overtime to them?

Only a quarter of the agricultural labor force is "migrant" labor. Says who? Oh, right, the same media that assures us that there are 'only' 12 million illegals in the US, so it is OK to give them green cards/citizenship. I got it.

And what does that have to do with the tens of thousands working in construction, meat packing plants, fruit/vegtable packing plants and etc.? Curious minds want to know.

Tell me a single one, in any so-called church, that said a single thing when the immigration laws were changed back in the 1960s to only permit non-whites into the United States. Just one.....

"It was only after World War II that immigration law was drastically changed...In one of the first pieces of evidence of its political coming of age, the Jewish community had a leadership role in effecting those changes." (Earl Raab, Jewish Bulletin, July 23, 1993, p. 17)

Mexico needs a populist revolution where the elites are dethroned.

Go ahead, explain how that is going to be done, BUT FIRST EXPLAIN WHY IT IS NOT BEING DONE INSIDE THE UNITED STATES, bozo!

This is a fact; that last 6 president of Mèxico were hand-picked by the bankers in New York, including the present one, who, as is well known in Mèxico stole the election using the same EXACT plan that Bush used in Florida, including the same types of machines and a decision by the Judicial branch of the government to confirm his election. Sound familiar?

Now, go see the post I put up about the Passage of NAFTA in Mèxico. That president of Mèxico, responsible for the passage of NAFTA, had to flee Mèxico afterwards. Can you name any ANY ANY politicians in the US who were responsible for NAFTA and anything happened to them?

So before you go lecturing about how bad some other place is, take care of your own house FIRST!

Never said anything about that, bozo. And what I am doing is taking care of my house; I LIVE IN MÈXICO!

And I know what goes on down here a lot better than you do, amd I know who and what is responsible for the problems in Mèxico cause I do not listen to the non-sense on the tele in the US! I actually read the material that explains it!

And I know why so many Mèxicans are crossing the border; no work. Why? Cause nearly 15 million of them have been driven off of their small land holdings by the terms of NAFTA, which was a gift from the industrial ag giants in the US, and the Us bankers in New York.

And I know who was responsible for all of the freebees given to the illegal immigrants, and it wasn`t the Mèxican government, NOR the illegals. It was YOU and your politicians. Think maybe they have some other project in mind that you do not know about, like, maybe, joining the US and Mèxico together? WHICH I ABSOLUTELY OPPOSE!

Read the post, Passage of NAFTA in Mèxico.

To which immigration law are you referring?

http://www.heritage. org/Research/Immigration/SR9.cfm

In 1963, President Lyndon Johnson launched the War on Poverty with the goal of eliminating poverty in the United States. Since that time, the U.S. has spent over $11 trillion on anti-poverty programs ...

Since the immigration reforms of the 1960s, the U.S. has imported poverty through immigration policies that permitted and encouraged the entry and residence of millions of low-skill immigrants into the nation ...

Today’s immigrants differ greatly from historic immigrant populations. Prior to 1960, immigrants to the U.S. had education levels that were similar to those of the non-immigrant workforce and earned wages that were, on average, higher than those of non-immigrant workers. Since the mid-1960s, however, the education levels of new immigrants have plunged relative to non-immigrants; consequently, the average wages of immigrants are now well below those of the non-immigrant population. Recent immigrants increasingly occupy the low end of the U.S. socio- economic spectrum.[2]

The current influx of poorly educated immigrants is the result of two factors: first, a legal immigration system that favors kinship ties over skills and education; and second, a permissive attitude toward illegal immigration that has led to lax border enforcement and non-enforcement of the laws that prohibit the employment of illegal immigrants. In recent years, these factors have produced an inflow of some ten and a half million immigrants who lack a high school education.

http://usinfo.s tate.gov/journals/itsv/0699/ijse/capop.htm

... the population of the United States continues to grow increasingly diverse. In recent years, Hispanics and minority racial groups (defined here as racial and ethnic groups that make up less than 50 percent of the population and include non-Hispanic blacks, Asians and American Indians) have each grown faster than the population as a whole. In 1970 these groups together represented only 16 percent of the population. By 1998 this share had increased to 27 percent. Assuming current trends continue, the Bureau of the Census projects that these groups will account for almost half of the U.S. population by 2050. Although such projections are necessarily imprecise, they do indicate that the racial and ethnic diversity of the United States will expand substantially in the next century. Immigration has been the key to this demographic evolution. It has contributed to the rapid growth of the Asian and Hispanic populations since the 1960s.

Jewish Involvement in Shaping American Immigration Policy, 1881-1965: A Historical Review

This paper discusses Jewish involvement in shaping United States immigration policy. In addition to a periodic interest in fostering the immigration of co- religionists as a result of anti-Semitic movements, Jews have an interest in opposing the establishment of ethnically and culturally homogeneous societies in which they reside as minorities. Jews have been at the forefront in supporting movements aimed at altering the ethnic status quo in the United States in favor of immigration of non-European peoples. These activities have involved leadership in Congress, organizing and funding anti-restrictionist groups composed of Jews and gentiles, and originating intellectual movements opposed to evolutionary and biological perspectives in the social sciences.

Carefully note; Jews have been at the forefront in supporting movements aimed at altering the ethnic status quo in the United States in favor of immigration of non-European peoples.

http://www.white- history.com/hwr67.htm

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA - Third World Immigration Starts After 1960

Until the 1960s, most immigrants to the United States came from Europe. Mexicans had however long since been crossing the border to seek employment in the White created prosperity that was North America: an estimated 500,000 Mexicans entered America, legally and illegally, in the 1930s; one million in the 1940s; and 2.5 million in the 1950s.

Starting from 1975, the vast majority of immigrants into America have been from non-White World countries from Asia and Latin America. More than 4 million newcomers entered the United States during the 1970s, rising to more than 6 million arrived in the 1980s; with at least 80 percent of these from Latin America or Asia.

During the 1990s another 10 million entered the country: the largest influx of immigrants in any decade in American history. In the 1980s, concern about the surge of illegal immigrants led Congress to pass legislation aimed at curtailing illegal immigration.

Then, should not Israel welcome Mexican immigration, and agree to pay for such. And enjoy the same benefit they seem want bestowed here?

It seems like a better experiment actually.. As Israel is so small, and needs so many to help them all the time.

Well, yeah, but some people can not be led to the truth, no matter what you show.

err, are youse there, mirage?

So, according to you, nobody is responsible for their own actions.

You are, and you are reaping what you have sown. You are a United States citizen, and the United States government has detrimined that it is in your best interest to allow massive non-white immigration into the United States, where you reside.

What is your problem with that?

I understand the quotas change from year to year.
It's fairly easy for someone from Europe/UK to immigrate here if they arrive first as a skilled worker. I've met Kiwis, Brits, a variety who became citizens that way. And there is a large Christian Ukrainian population in the Sacremento area, recent immigrants. There aren't that many oppressed whites, except maybe in Russia and parts of Eastern Europe.

I understand the quotas change from year to year.

Do you truly understand, robin?

Since the implementation of the law, the relative proportion of the white population has been in steady decline, with whites projected to lose their majority status during the 21st century. Hispanics, a group composed of Spanish- speaking whites, blacks, indigenous tribes, and those of mixed ancestry have replaced English-speaking African Americans as the largest minority in the U.S. There has also been enormous growth of immigration from non-European nations since the implementation of the law.

There is a general law which states that the INTENT of any law can bested be determined by the result of that law. The above paragraph accurately protrays exactly what was intended by the change in immigration law in 1965.

By the way, I have put up the first immigration post.

As I pointed out, it's also possible that not that many White Europeans want to emigrate anywhere, least of all to America. The Dutch are emigrating to Canada. And, as I also pointed out, there is another easy way for skilled Europeans to emigrate here through the foreign visa program.

The problem we have is with illegal immigration, mostly from Mexico and further south.

not that many White Europeans emigrate anywhere,

Bingo.

By 1965, the Post WW2 Western European surge was done with.

Apart from entertainers in stratospheric tax brackets, many preferred the quality of life in Europe to America. Hard f'us to believe, but there it is, high gas prices notwithstanding.

After the Berlin Wall came down, there was and still is somewhat of an Eastern European surge.

But the fact remained that nonEuros were far more motivated to come here than Euros, the English in fact, in the 60's preferred South Africa and Australia.

The Mexican bulge now is partially designed to help save SocialSecurity as they eventually become "normalized", the hope being that their reproductive ratios will raise the US above the ZeroPopulationGrowth stage. FWIW,IMO, but it's still a fact :>>
