I would like to talk to you today about the face of evil. We have no more Hitler, no more Pol Pot. Gone are the quaint icons of evil in the last century. Today we usher in a new version of evil, for our new century. Ladies & Gentlemen, I give you a promotional video from the Monsanto Corporation .

Monsanto is responsible for such great hits like, developing Agent Orange & Bovine Growth Hormone, being the largest provider of genetically modified food sources on the planet, Water Privatization, creating terminator seeds (seeds that are genetically designed to only grow once and not reproduce), and Round-Up Ready food, corn and grain that are genetically resistant to pesticides and continue to live while everything around them is eradicated. Monsanto seeks to outbreed all other genetic strains of produce like corn, so that all corn growers must buy seed from them.

What is the big deal, you say? Consider this, there is no governmental oversight of genetically modified food producers in the US, none. Instead, the EPA tells the corporations to use Best Practices. Which translates to, you guys police yourselves. And we all know that corporations always keep the publics interest in mind. For these and other fun facts watch The Future of Food . It is a deceptively boring title for what is an amazing documentary. via: SideWinder77

What that farmer was raising is not the corn that we eat directly - it was #2 yellow corn, which becomes food for the various feedlots, pork, and poultry producers, etc, and now for the ethanol industry.

Sweet corn, roasting ears, are what we should try to find from our local organic producers.

That said, Monsanto, and the rest of the GM companies, are not our friends.

Just remember something, my friends; the problem with the GM corn comes with it being released into the environment, where it can not be contained. There have been studies done that show pollen from plants traveling more than 10 miles on the wind, or being carried that far by insects.

Think about it; how do you find pure, non-GM corn when no location in the nation will, in a very short time, be free from pollen contamination from GM corn?

And, do you suppose the Monsanto is unaware of this?

Recently, in Canada (which is arguably worse than the US in many things), the courts ruled against a farmer whose crops had been contaminated by cross- pollination from GM crops. Agents of Monsanto had gone onto the farmer's property, WITHOUT PERMISSION, tested his crops, found the markers inside the DNA of the farmer's crops from Monsanto's GM alternations, AND MONSANTO SUED THE FARMER FOR USING MONSANTO'S GM TECHNOLOGY (SEEDS) WITHOUT PAYING FOR THE PRIVILEGE, and Monsanto won.

And Canada's Supreme Court upheld.

I believe that I saw a video about this case posted here a couple of months ago - stunningly unbelievable.

Monsanto has sued their way to success. There are many cases like the one described, both in the US and Canada.

The video, future of food, details a Canadian case very well, as well as the future that GM food can provide us.
