He’s clueless about political economy. Also, he lies. He claimed immigrants make up 1/3 of the prison population when in fact they have a lower incarceration rate than the rest of the population (they’re 6% of inmates and 7% of the total population). Also, he’s suggested immigrants are responsible for an imaginary leprosy epidemic(!). From the NYT article:

The most common complaint about [Dobbs], at least from other journalists, is that his program combines factual reporting with editorializing. But I think this misses the point. Americans, as a rule, are smart enough to handle a program that mixes opinion and facts. The problem with Mr. Dobbs is that he mixes opinion and untruths. He is the heir to the nativist tradition that has long used fiction and conspiracy theories as a weapon against the Irish, the Italians, the Chinese, the Jews and, now, the Mexicans.

The human being is a fighting species and forcing diverse populations to share space only aggravates this.

Diversity does not work too well in Israel either, which is something you are already aware of, so how can you expect it to work any better in the US?

The only way it will be tolerated is when you have a strongman leadership, such as Yugoslavia under Tito or Iraq under Saddam, or under Communism, and under such circumstances nobody is happy.

Also, he lies. He claimed immigrants make up 1/3 of the prison population when in fact they have a lower incarceration rate than the rest of the population (they’re 6% of inmates and 7% of the total population).

Can 'o Corn spreads lies. Dobbs never said "immigrants make up 1/3 of the prison population." Get your facts straight. "Non United States Citizens" appear to make up 26.5% of the current Federal prison population according to Federal Bureau of Prisons statistics.

David Leonhardt said the following in the NYT article.

For one thing, Mr. Dobbs has a somewhat flexible relationship with reality. He has said, for example, that one-third of the inmates in the federal prison system are illegal immigrants. That’s wrong, too. According to the Justice Department, 6 percent of prisoners in this country are noncitizens (compared with 7 percent of the population).
Leonhardt does a bait-and-switch in midstream, which Can o' Corn emulates. Leonhardt accurately cites "inmates in the federal prison system," falsely refers to "illegal immigrants" and then cites a total bullshit statistic which does -NOT- pertain to the Federal prison system.

A 2003 report by Bill Tucker said one-third of the inmates in the federal prison system were not United States citizens. He went on to note that there was no system in place to identify how many of those were illegal aliens.

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0311/04/ldt.00.html

LOU DOBBS TONIGHT

Aired November 4, 2003 - 18:00 ET

[Excerpt]

BILL TUCKER, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Lou, the costs exceed $1.4 billion, and that's just the cost to hold them in prison. And while they were in prison, you'd think we'd identify which ones are illegal aliens. We don't.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

TUCKER (voice-over): One-third of the people in federal prisons are not United States citizens. Incredibly, there's no system currently in place to identify how many of those prisoners are also illegal aliens. Yet immigration offenses are the third most common reason people go to jail.

Leonhardt and Can o' Corn change that to "illegal immigrants" and expand it beyond the Federal prison system to all prisoners "in this country."

So MS13, is an American Creation right??? You are such a fucking dumbass. They came from El Salvador. Just like half the gangs that are so called Latino.

Ah, Tommy, me boyo. Sooner or later you will get tired of looking foolish for challenging me.

I posted this under the immigration thread some time ago; Street Gangs of Los Angelas

You can find most of the info about street gangs in that post, and, Tommy me boy, they is all home grown. (Except, as I point out, some of the Asian gangs.)

Now, I did not have the details about MS-13, so, here it tis;

http://www.knowgan gs.com/gang_resources/profiles/ms13/

In the early 1980s a civil war erupted in El Salvador killing as estimated 100,000 people. In addition, it is estimated between one and two million people have immigrated to the United States as a result of the unstable environment in El Salvador.

The first large population of El Salvadorian refuges settled in the Rampart area of Los Angeles. This influx of immigrants looking for low cost housing and employment was not readily welcomed by the Mexican-American population who were already residing in that area. The area was already plagued with gangs and crime.

These immigrant Salvadorian youth and young adults were soon were victimized by local gangs. A group of Salvadorian immigrants created a new gang calling themselves Mara Salvatrucha also known as MS-13. It is believed they got their name from combining the name of “La Mara”, a violent street gang in El Salvador with Salvatruchas, a term used to denote members of the Farabundo Marti National Liberation Front. This was a group of Salvadorian peasants trained as guerilla fighters. The “13” was added to pay homage to the California prison gang, the Mexican Mafia.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, Tommy, those immigrants from San Salvador.... do you want me to go into details as to why that there civil war was ongoing, and, who was behind it? I can, you know; the US government. So many of those people, esp. the young, had more than a little hatred built up about the US as well.

So, want to throw any more of the wonderful info you get from the US media at me, Tommy boy?

Oh, and by-the-way, in that post about Street Gangs, I also have a link to the FBI which shows that the gang problem in San Salvador was caused by deporting gang members FROM THE US BACK TO SAN SALVADOR. OK? Get it? Anything else?

I don't think he's an idiot, but I haven't watched his program in over a year because of his constant inaccurate and emotional rants against immigration. Even if he was right, he completely wears it out. It's supposed to be a business news show, but it hasn't had any news on it in ages.

I don't want to get into the immigration argument, but his show is plain unwatchable now. It's just rant after rant, all on one topic. I remember when he went off about Enron and Arthur Anderson. He was right that it wasn't AA's fault, but after six months of the same thing every night, my eyes glazed over when he brought up the subject.

Enron wasn't AA's fault, but their destruction was. Way prior to Enron happening, they refused to let the SEC have open access to the books of their clients. When they did that, it was kinda like Saddam nationalizing Iraq's oil. It was the end of them.

You don't like the Jews but are very protective of the Mexicans and cry against racism towards them.

Diana, I cry against Racism always, not because of Mèxico, but that is the chosen subject by many in 4um. What bugs me about what is said is the double standard;

If the Mèxicans would take back control of their government.....

This from US citizens who have never had control of their own government, which is controlled by the same people who control the Mèxican government!

It's all the fault of the Mèxican government.....

See above.

It's all the fault of the Mèxicans.....

Get my point? Hard for me to accept the stupidity that goes into such statements. Esp. when every bit of the problem can be traced right back to Washington, DC. See the post; Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965

As to the Jews, it is not a case of like or dislike; they have declared themselves to be the enemy of Christianity, and thus they are my enemy as I frely admit to being a Christian, BY THEIR CHOICE. And I can give you chapter and verse on that. Besides which, it is no secret that Communism comes directly from the Talmud, the bible of the Jewish people. But, and this is where people are confused, so does Capitalism.

So there are reasons for what I say and do; it is not blind like so many of those who post here.

As to the Jews,

but after six months of the same thing every night, my eyes glazed over when he brought up the subject.

Such things, to me, do not happen by accident, they are deliberate. After enough of this, people simply tune it out. And those in control of the news know these rules very well. And if they have doubts, they simply read Goebbels.

Lou Dobbs is an American hero.

Since when, and, how do you define an American hero?

Has he, ever, spoken of the Federal Reserve and its private control of the money supply, and interest rates?

Has he ever questioned who controls the Federal Reserve?

Has he ever mentioned that it would be a good idea to audit the Federal Reserve?

Has he ever mentioned the CIA control of drugs coming into the US?

Has he ever mentioned the CIA-Mossad-MI-6 connection, and how it ties into the international movement of so-called illegal drugs?

Has he ever asked for a further investigation into 911?

Has he ever asked for additional info on what is happening with VoteScam? The stealing of elections using vote-fraud electronic machines?

(I hope you understand that I could go on and on and on and on here, about the things he does not dare to speak of.)

Does he support Ron Paul?

Or, does he just get on the tele and give you a little lip service on some subject that happens to be a hot button of the moment, and his answer is slightly different from the mainstream?

Curious minds want to know....

You think that maybe they knew what was going to be found if they allowed the search?

No, they refused in ALL cases, because they held (inter-office) that they had a fiduciary duty to their clients, and they would only allow the Justice Department to get at their clients if the Justice Dept. had a formally issued subpoena. The Justice Dept's position was that as a Public Accounting firm, the justice dept was entitled to look at all of the books of all of their clients upon the issuance of a letter (not a subpoena or warrant).

Arthur Anderson was legally correct, but strategically it was a bad move. As an industry leader, their insistence on the legal rights of their clients made some other accounting firms follow suit. Hence the Justice Dept was already pissed at them prior to Enron.

You can guess what the legal status of client privacy is now.

The Houston office of AA was the culprit in the Enron case, and an entire company employing 20,000 people, many of them here in Chicago, was destroyed. Chicago still hasn't recovered from losing 10,000 good jobs.

A lot of people lost their houses, even became homeless because of the ridiculous persecution of the company. But my point was, even when Lou is right, he just wears you out.
