He’s clueless about political economy. Also, he lies. He claimed immigrants make up 1/3 of the prison population when in fact they have a lower incarceration rate than the rest of the population (they’re 6% of inmates and 7% of the total population). Also, he’s suggested immigrants are responsible for an imaginary leprosy epidemic(!). From the NYT article:

The most common complaint about [Dobbs], at least from other journalists, is that his program combines factual reporting with editorializing. But I think this misses the point. Americans, as a rule, are smart enough to handle a program that mixes opinion and facts. The problem with Mr. Dobbs is that he mixes opinion and untruths. He is the heir to the nativist tradition that has long used fiction and conspiracy theories as a weapon against the Irish, the Italians, the Chinese, the Jews and, now, the Mexicans.

INVASION USA

Illegal aliens murder 12 Americans daily

Death toll in 2006 far overshadows total U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq, Afghanistan

In the population study of a sample of 55,322 illegal aliens, researchers found that they were arrested at least a total of 459,614 times, averaging about 8 arrests per illegal alien. Nearly all had more than 1 arrest. Thirty-eight percent (about 21,000) had between 2 and 5 arrests, 32 percent (about 18,000) had between 6 and 10 arrests, and 26 percent (about 15,000) had 11 or more arrests. Most of the arrests occurred after 1990.

"The U.S. Justice Department estimated that 270,000 illegal immigrants served jail time nationally in 2003. Of those, 108,000 were in California. Some estimates show illegals now make up half of California's prison population, creating a massive criminal subculture that strains state budgets and creates a nightmare for local police forces."

More Americans killed by illegal aliens than Iraq war, study says

http://www.gao.gov/docsearch/abstract.php?rptno=GAO-05-646R

They were arrested for a total of about 700,000 criminal offenses, averaging about 13 offenses per illegal alien. One arrest incident may include multiple offenses, a fact that explains why there are nearly one and half times more offenses than arrests. Almost all of these illegal aliens were arrested for more than 1 offense. Slightly more than half of the 55,322 illegal aliens had between 2 and 10 offenses. About 45 percent of all offenses were drug or immigration offenses. About 15 percent were property-related offenses such as burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft, and property damage. About 12 percent were for violent offenses such as murder, robbery, assault, and sex-related crimes. The balance was for such other offenses as traffic violations, including driving under the influence; fraud--including forgery and counterfeiting; weapons violations; and obstruction of justice. Eighty percent of all arrests occurred in three states--California, Texas, and Arizona. Specifically, about 58 percent of all arrests occurred in California, 14 percent in Texas, and 8 percent in Arizona.

Don't do this robin, and make me be on the same side as can of corn! I have already torn up at least two immigration ariticles, one of which was probably from Morris Dees and used to promote hate.

Here is a fact: most illegal immigrants are scared of the police. This only makes sense, because if they get involved with the police, they end up getting deported. For this reason, most illegal immigrants are much more law abiding that you or I. For fear.

Secondly, and we have gone over this before, what that is proposed and writtne about in the national media do you accept as the truth? Anything, or, just about immigration?

And until you can show me ONE thing that is true and that is honestly reported in the press, do not start using info from the press to prove a point such as this.

Besides, (choke, gasp, pain!) can of corn is right about Lou Dobbs, and everyone in 4um pretty much knows it, I suspect.

Which, by the way, does not say much about your sources to disprove the point!

That's a .gov source not MSM.

Yes, I agree that most illegals are afraid of the police and most do not commit violent crimes. But there are millions and millions of illegals here now, especially in the SouthWest.

The 911 report is also a gov source. So was the report on Oklahoma City. And the report on Waco, and Kennedy, and Ruby Ridge. So, your point is?

And this is official government policy; Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965

Have you read the post? And, the other three I put up with it?

Prison and arrest stats are easily checked, unlike the 9/11 Commission's report.

Not the same.

Prison and arrest stats are easily checked, unlike the 9/11 Commission's report.

And? How? AND; have you done that?

The attorney who wrote the book about Satanism in America, from Neb., The Franklin Cover-Up, reported on how nothing in the FBI stats on crime includes any information on missing children, or, in large part, any info on crimes against children. In short, those stats on crime are all lies. And, he went into detail about this.

The lesson being, why would you think that the media tells lies, and no one in the government falisifies anything? Or, in law inforcement? Do you believe for just one moment that there are not people in law enforcement involved in the cover-ups I mentioned before? Waco and Ruby Ridge were all about law enforcement!

Law enforcement is a part of the gov, robin, and a BIG part of the problem. Taking anything at face value from THEM is no different than accepting non- sense printed by the New York Times. In fact, it could be worse, cause most of the time, law enforcement is at the heart of the problems, while the New York Times just prints the falsehoods.

Various immigration watch organizations have, they say the stats are too low.

Fabulous. So let's just offer everyone in the world full citizenship, full welfare benefits, and sit around the campfire to sing Kum-Ba-Yah.

Everyone knows they just LOVE America and Americans and can't wait to be your new Mayberry neighbor and lend you their garden shears.

Right? RIGHT?
