Tarzan-like woman outrageously claims she survived the Holocaust with the help of a pack of wolves.
A court victory for a Massachusetts woman who sued the publisher of her memoir about surviving the Holocaust with the help of a pack of wolves, who protected her and gave her food.
The author, Misha Defonseca (pictured), lost her home even after the book about her harrowing childhood during World War Two became a best-seller overseas.
Defonseca sued the publisher, Mount Ivy Press, and its founder, Jane Daniel, for breach of contract in 1998. They accused Daniel of keeping royalties that belonged to them and hiding the money in offshore accounts.
Defonseca's book, Misha: A Memoire of the Holocaust Years, tells the story of how Nazis seized her parents when she was 7 years old. Defonseca says she wandered the forests of Europe for four years, killed a Nazi soldier in self-defense and was "adopted" by a pack of wolves.

More and more, I wonder about the holocaust. I remember as a kid learning about it in school. The number just kept growing and growing. Now it's up to something like 6 million people died that were Jews, where as there were nearly 14 million other people slaughtered by the Nazis who Weren't.

When I was a child, I found a paperback book on the shelf called "I Survived Hitler's Ovens". It was by Olga Lengyl. It gave excruciating accounts of a concentration camp. I asked my parents if they had ever known anyone who was in a concentration camp. They told me that a friend of our family, a Dutch-born doctor, had been in one. Incidentally, he was not Jewish.
The extermination of 6-million Jews by the Nazis during World War Two was demographically and scientifically impossible. The Swiss Red Cross issued a document in 1946 that estimated between half-a-million and one and one-half- million Jews perished in the war, mostly from disease and starvation toward the end of the war, when allied bombing had all but destroyed the transportation and supply networks in Europe.
