Problem is, that if it even LOOKS as though the people are going to nominate Paul, he will either have some sort of scandal surface (unfounded or not, it won't matter once the damage is done), or the media will mike-up some little obnoxious noise he makes (like they did with Dean), or he will be strapped in a convertible and sent to Dealy Plaza. The POWER ain't gunna let him in.

We're screwed, of course.

I totally agree and anyone who doesn't believe that need only to look at the last few years of politics in CA.

I was raised in Ventura County in the 50s & early 60s...left in '63 for the military...retired in '88 and tried to go back there to live. Forget it. Me and the weef were knockin' down over 50K a year in 89-90...and still buy used tires for the car.
