Picky Japanese princesses pass on putrid peckers Unmarried Japanese women are most unlikely to compromise and tie the knot with a guy if he has a smelly penis, according to Spa! (7/10). Of 100 women in their mid-20s to mid-30s that the men's weekly surveyed, 96 said they could look askance at some unsavory aspects of a man, but not if his amorousness stands out more for its odor. Unwillingness to compromise in the search for a perfect partner is often cited as the main reason why so many Japanese are choosing either to never marry or putting off wedlock until the latest possible moment. The men's weekly tried to find out exactly where young Japanese are willing to conciliate when it comes to finding a spouse. Away from fetid old fellers, which women almost universally loathed, gals' gripes were strongest if the guy failed to hold down a steady job and if he acted like a traditional Japanese husband with little regard for women's rights. But even more modern Japanese men came in for a fair bit of criticism. "My husband really likes pop idols, which I thought was a bit immature, but I figured he'd grow out of it as he got older. Boy, was I wrong. Even after we'd had kids he didn't change. He wants to watch all the pop shows on TV and the children have to fight him to watch the kids' shows they want to see," a 33-year-old woman tells Spa! Women are also unlikely to compromise if guys don't show them some compassion. "Because guys don't get period pain, it's a bit hard for him to understand what I'm going through, but I wish he wouldn't complain on the one or two days a month when I simply couldn't be bothered with the housework," a 32-year-old housewife says. Surprisingly large numbers of women also said they couldn't go up the aisle with a guy who moans while having sex. "He's moans are too loud. And they're more like high-pitched whines, so it makes me wonder if he's a closet masochist. I hate the idea that he might one day ask me to get into games that tickle his fancy that way," a 26-year-old cram school teacher says. Men's traditionally close maternal relationships are another area where few Japanese women are willing to concede ground, and those that have done so frequently regret it. "Rather than having an Oedipal complex, I figured he was just fond of his mother. But now, he'll only have sex on days I'm ovulating because 'Mommy would really love a grandchild,' " a 35-year-old housewife tells Spa! Guys, meanwhile, generally tended to be more pliant when it came to choosing a partner, but there were some things they didn't want to come to a compromise over. "Anyone who has a mobile phone bill of more than 30,000 yen a month. It's not so much the price that's the problem, it's the disappointment about somebody else who's got nothing better to do with their life," a 33-year-old printing industry employee says. "And when you ask her what the calls are about, they're nearly always bad-mouthing someone or spreading rumors." Sex is also another area where guys find it hard to compromise. "Her body odor was so bad, it affected our sex life," a 33-year-old teacher says. "When I thought I might have to spend the rest of my life with this woman, I just couldn't continue the relationship." A 29-year-old accountant found his love life in a hairy situation after compromising to his regret. "While we were dating, she shaved herself properly, but once we were married, she sprouted hair all over," he tells Spa! "I can't bear the thought of making love to her any more." I'm confused by this article....I thought the Nip men were leaning towards clean freaks. A good, thorough hot shower, once-a-day, is all it usually takes. Are they not doing this? Not that I am an expert in Nip nuts, but really...
