Ron was excellent.

What's your beef with GS? I thought he was OK.......unless it was the blurb at the end where he would have bet all in his pocket that Ron won't win? Most everyone feels that way--excepting us that want true change. May the quarterlies tell some tales and shake some peoples up.

I think GS was also trying to lend credibility to Guiliani when they showed the clip of him responding to Paul in the second debate (note how they didn't play Paul's immediate response that followed after Benito). It didn't work, and just made Il Douche look that much worse.

Ron Paul shined brilliantly, as usual. He's gotten the hang of how msm operates, and how to use the limited (and edited) time to best get the message out.

Press Release: Ron Paul Wins Big 7/7/07

Ron Paul Wins Big in First New Hampshire Straw Poll

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEJuly 7, 2007

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA – Presidential candidate Ron Paul today won the Coalition for New Hampshire Taxpayers (CNHT) straw poll at their annual picnic in Hopkinton, New Hampshire. Dr. Paul received 182 of 294 votes cast, or 65 percent. In second place was Rudy Giuliani with 24 votes, or 8 percent.

"Today's strong victory is further proof that Dr. Paul's message is resonating throughout New Hampshire," said campaign manager Lew Moore. "Dr. Paul is the only candidate in this race truly dedicated to smaller government and lower taxes for all Americans."

Paul opponents are claiming that this event was stacked with Paul supporters. On the other hand; they claim that OFFICIAL POLLS show Paul at 2 or 3 per cent. I could argue that much of his support comes from young people, who don't have land lines, and, as a consequence, aren't included in such polls. I believe we could see a REAL SURGE in Paul support when colleges open in late August/early September. In any event; I don't think we'll know anything concrete until primary season. Ask for, and request, a paper ballot...don't let the machines steal your vote.

I'll have to find out if this is possible in Travis county. Before Dr.Paul announced, I mailed in my VoterRegistration and told them that I wouldn't be voting until they had paper ballots, hand-counted in plain view, at the precinct level.

I'm not holding my breath...

If it isn't; it ought to be. Who the hell are they to DENY you the right to vote in such a manner where YOU, as the voter, can be DAMN SURE you vote was tallied in the column of the candidate you voted for. No MACHINE can do that...

Here's what we've got -

A Message from Dana DeBeauvoir,

Travis County Clerk

Voters coming to the polls to cast their vote in upcoming elections once again will use Travis County’s eSlate™, the newest in Direct Record Electronic (DRE), state-of-the-art voting systems.

The really good news is that no computer experience is needed to vote on the eSlate system. Even Travis County voters who have not previewed the system find it extremely easy to use when they come to vote.

I hope you will take some time to view the materials on this web site and familiarize yourself with the eSlate. We look forward to seeing you during this and all elections.

Sincerely,

Dana DeBeauvoir

County Clerk

Travis County

Dear Dana,

I am familiar with how computers operate, and, as a consequence of that knowledge; I am NOT interested in using your easily-corrupted eSlate system. I'll take a paper ballot.

Regards,

One of millions of p*ssed-off voters

GO RON PAUL!!!

You might find these to be a helpful and cost-effective tool...I think poster 'wakeup' just announced that he now has a collection of Dr. Paul videos burned to DVD that could be used to inform those not familiar with Dr. Paul. I agree...there are many older people who aren't comfortable with computers, but nearly everyone owns a DVD player.

Thanks.

I'm finding that I need to TAILOR my replies. Not enough to just send a web link or dvd. People are lazy, so they will read only short, tailored e-mails. At least first.

I find it helpful to accentuate the aspects of RP's platform that I know will appeal--like my friends who lean left: they like his opposition to the Iraq War and Patriot Act, but if they find out he's "pro-life" or that he would cut taxes they freak. My friends who lean right are an easier sell, but even there, some of them, sadly, are convinced we need to stay in Iraq.

And many people have issues w/ working to eliminate the Federal Reserve. This is probably the toughest one b/c it is hard to explain in 10 seconds or less. Even over a beer--or seven--it can be tough.

If anyone has any tailored info or is thinking along the same lines, please let me know.

RON PAUL ROCKS!
