Gov. Mitt Romney told crowds in Denison and Ida Grove, Iowa, this morning that America needs to elect a Republican president in 2008, or suffer the consequences of what he called a sharp turn left. Americans wont turn left, he said to more than 100 who gathered at Cronks Restaurant in Denison. Theyll move forward by electing a Republican and thats me.
Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts, continues to run strong among GOP Presidential hopefuls in Iowa, ranking at or near the top of a field of 10 candidates. He claimed as president he would raise defense spending $30 billion to $40 billion annually to bolster our military. He would also keep the Bush tax cuts in place and would commit his office to strengthening the family.
Romney told folks at the Ida Grove Pharmacy & Soda Fountain he doesnt have an alternative strategy for winning the War on Terror in Iraq right now. I support the President and I support the troop surge. I wont lay out a Plan B, because I want Plan A (the troop surge) to work, he said.
His campaign continued today with stops in Storm Lake, Spencer and the Iowa Great Lakes.

Imagine the field day the press would have if only a 100 people showed up for a Ron Paul stop off...
