In casual conversations I've observed that some Republicans like to complain about the militarization of the police. and then I remind them that it has been a republican policy since the late 1980's to militarize the police all across the country. by that I mean that Republicans instituted policies of the federal government providing strong financial incentives to local police to militarize. When free hardware is available and they even pay you to take it, then it is done. and then afterwards these idiot Republicans support the militarization of local police and hate me for showing them who is behind it.
