WASHINGTON -- Sen. John McCain's media team has resigned, an indication that a campaign shake-up two weeks ago is continuing to backfire and further imperil the Arizona Republican's presidential candidacy.

Political ad-makers Russ Schriefer and Stuart Stevens, veterans of President Bush's 2000 and 2004 campaigns, on Monday emailed the new campaign manager -- lobbyist and longtime McCain adviser Rick Davis -- to say that they were quitting. The two men told friends they had considered leaving for days, as they hadn't been paid and the campaign's financial straits raised questions of when and how much they would be.

Their resignations followed a story in The Wall Street Journal Monday1 about Mr. Davis's business and lobbying activities. Current and former McCain campaign advisers say those activities -- which involved a business he started and another launched by an acquaintance of his -- amounted to profiteering at the campaign's expense and risked embarrassing the senator.

Since Mr. McCain accepted the resignations of former campaign manager Terry Nelson and chief strategist John Weaver two weeks ago, and put Mr. Davis in charge, more than a dozen senior staffers have left from the headquarters in northern Virginia as well as state offices in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina -- all states with early nominating contests. Several fund-raisers have cut their ties to the campaign, which reported a debt at the end of the second quarter.

Now the loss of the Schriefer-Stevens media team is considered a new blow, Republican strategists say.

Seems that a lot of problems could be solved by having McCain resign from the campaign.

That's TWO down...it's going to be damn difficult for the CFR-controlled media to ignore Dr. Paul during the debates if he is the ONLY one standing on the stage...

I just read that only McCain and Paul had signed up for the YouTube debate format. If Paul is the only one that shows up, I would say that he has a delightful opportunity to expand on his positions.

Ron Paul Winning Election@Google

Writes Johnny Kramer: "Here's an update on the views of RP's Google video: According to http://tubemogul.com, 78% of all @Google video views yesterday were Ron Paul's, with 8,772 views.

"Ron Paul's Google talk has been up on their YouTube site for 10 days, and it already has more views than the other five candidates who've spoken there combined (McCain, Hillary, Richardson, Edwards, Bloomberg). And all their videos have been up much longer than Paul's!"

True, but I was referring to the shrinking field of candidates overall...first Gilmore, now (hopefully, oh please, please, please...) John McCain.

Gotcha. If a quarter of pubs won't back top-tier, Libertarians are overwhelmingly onboard with Paul's message, Military likes Paul, the RNC is failing in the panhandling race, then there is only a small group of bots still on the range. And they'll be tapped out by election day, (if there is one). As for Democrats, I've been burning my eyes reading their blogs etc., and am equally dissapointed with the party-bot factor. Seems the media would have us believe that the Dems continue to be a cohesive block, of happy one-issue voters. They continue to portray Democrats as pro-open borders people, and we all know that is not true. Couple days ago I saw a painful stuttered explaination peeling apart of the true Christian v Evangelical voters. Amazingly, they reached a conclusion that all people don't think alike. Why, some that say they are Christians, don't even go to church. Shocking! They even SHARE the same issues with, believe or not, Democrats. (I wrote that down for future reference...;) Imagine, Americans with common concerns. A-oooooooo-ga A-ooooooo-ga! 1Adam112 1Adam12! Dive Dive Dive.

Anyway, it's the message not the money that is driving the bus it seems. And the media complicity in suppressing the debate to approved topics, is shoving people to the internet. When you take a peek at some of the candidates campaign pages, it's pretty pathetic. To get a group shot the candidate has to hold a bag of fries. ;)

Last, I read Paul is polling 6% in Texas. Considering Texas is one of the 5 largest electoral vote states, that seems pretty significant.

Yay!

Other day a man stopped at McCains HQ, said he wanted to resign.

The staff told him that was impossible as he was needed to steer the Titanic.

So McCain left without resigning.
