Real old time Mississippi Delta country blues. Son House was a personal friend of Charley Patton, "Father of the Delta Blues," and himself cut some sides ca. 1930 that influenced that best known of the Mississippi bluesmen, Robert Johnson (compare Son House's "My Black Mama" with Johnson's "Walkin' Blues" for example). Son House (like Robert Johnson posthumously) was rediscovered during the '60's; this video dates from 1967.
