notice how she tried to tie Dr. Paul to the "Alex Jones crowd" right out of the box. Ron Paul did that all by himself by appearing on Jones' show numerous times. Doesn't Alex Jones have a larger audience than Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and several other "pundits"? I do know that his website gets more hits than Limbaugh's or Hannity's. Thus, I don't blame Ron Paul for appearing on the Alex Jones show because he was reaching a large audience.
I don't dislike Ron Paul and I realize he has no chance of becoming president.
The point is, by appearing numerous times on Jones' show, Paul set himself up for the question of being "linked" to the kook.
...because that is the ONLY way the government-controlled media can attack Dr. Paul. They do NOT want him getting anywhere near the White House (as President, at least). If they can attach him to anyone perceived as a 'kook'; they hope it will scare away potential supporters.

So, why on earth would Paul help them by appearing with the kook Jones? Shows poor judgement.
Paul has been on MSM, does that link him to MSM? ABC, Fox, and late night comedy too, the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Oh my, is Paul just a comedian then? Ron Paul has a strong draw on the internet, his poll #s are very decent, his campaign funds are good (and he's truly fiscally conservative so that $$ will go a long way). I see no reason for talk of defeat, just the opposite. All though it may suit your agenda very well. BTW, how would you describe your agenda?

There is no downside to appearing on MSM shows and the John Stewart show. But there is a downside to appearing on the show of an Internet kook.

When Clinton was in office, Fox News seemed like an alternative, however flawed, to the administration's propaganda. Then, when Shrub and Co. came to power, they turned around and shilled for Shrub louder than CNN or any other network ever shilled for Clinton. What a bunch of disgusting hypocrites. Chances are, they invited Dr. Paul just so that their idiot talking heads could snear at his remarks afterwards.

You bring up an interesting point re: Fox News watchers' deeply entrenched opinions - that's why I was surprised that the interviewer let slip the fact that Dr. Ron Paul is pro-life - that fact alone had to register big time positive with the Fox News fundie crowd. Also, some of Ron Paul's greatest fans as of late are soldiers stateside who have come back from Iraq - presumably the Fox News watchers also represent parents of these soldiers who have likely rec'd an earful from their kids. His message about bringing our troops home may resonate positively with those families now.

And Ron Paul clarified that issue himself on air - he told the interviewer that alternative news sources gave him a break by offering him face time/air time. Up until recently mainstream news sources like Fox News were pointedly ignoring Dr. Paul - so Dr. Paul had to take advantage of whatever opportunity presented itself to him to get his message to the general public be it Alex Jones or Jon Stewart or Bill Mahrer. I admire Dr. Paul for his honesty and for his resourcefulness, quite frankly. I think Dr. Paul reached many many college aged 20's and early 30's voters by being given face time by Jon Stewart, Colbert, and Mahrer. If there's a ground swell of college aged Elect Ron Paul and End the Iraq War activism across campuses, the R and D political operatives/minions will be sweating big time. Folks like Mr. Clean no doubt are somewhat nervous about that audience because in the past they could count on those folks not voting. Dr. Paul has generated interest in the very public that could turn the hitherto predictable 2008 Presidential election on its head. P.S. And just because Dr. Paul agreed to appear and be interviewed on Fox News, it does not mean he's a neocon, yes?
