Watch

(Digging in the C&L archives.) This speech is one reason why our country is so divided. He created an uproar after he said that liberals wanted to give terrorists therapy. These unfounded partisan attacks are the cornerstone of his leadership skills and were neatly copied by the rubber stamp Conservatives in Congress and on their sycophantic blogs. It’s an old Republican tactic, but Rove used it like no other…

Rove: Conservatives saw the savag…savagery of 9/11 in the attacks and prepared for war. Liberals saw the savageerry on 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers.

——

Schumer: When I heard his remarks, it turned my stomach.

Lautenberg: He can only have one reaction, and that is to ask Rove to get out of his office..

The Democratic Party wanted him fired for this speech—and rightly so…

Marcy speculates on why he’s leaving….and points to three investigations.

“Liberals saw the savagery on 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers.”

indictments are exactly what should have been prepared. 9/11, in my opinion, was a crime and not an act of war.

and trying to understand why there was an attack surely would have been better than a kneejerk war. remember when ron paul said something like we weren't attacked because of our freedom, we were attacked because of our foreign policy (and rudy went all apoplectic).

a great opportunity for improvement was wasted.

Well, indictments would have meant that things like proof and evidence would have to be preserved and presented on record- to be scrutinized by judges and lawyers and any dumb citizen.

You couldn't get rid of things like engine blocks and just cart away the tower debris and sell the steel columns to smelters in Indonesia if you bothered with indictments.

And besides- as everyone knows- the American judicial system is just liberal trickery that they use in their quest to destroy America.

This "liberals" are soft on the terrahists line is for dumb dumbs. Today- the "Liberal" New York Times just wrote an editorial condemning a pullout of the Iraq war. These "conservative" frauds really have to stretch now to present the Dems as "coddlers" of terrorists. Since there are no differences between these fraud parites they have to make them up.

Yeah thats why the Clinton/Albright/UN 10 year sanctions on Iraq murdered around a million civilians. They were TOO soft, the sanctions should have killed more.

What do they call the rest of us who wanted to see Rove and his pals indicted?
