Ever hear the story about how he died? He wrote that song, but his record company and managers essentially stole all the royalties. So he sued. Which meant suing the mob, essentially. The day he was supposed to show up for his deposition, he was found shot to death in his car, which had been dumped at his mother's house. There were bogus stories about suicide, but he was whacked.
