When I was a kid, my grandfather invited me to spend time in Greece with him and my grandmother. Just as I was leaving for the airport, this came on the radio for the first time. I loved it instantly, but just knew the name Little Girl. Then I ended up in England and Greece for two months, where it was unknown, and I was dying to hear it again. By the time I got back home, it was in the Top Ten. I ran out and bought the single, and played it to death.
I like the way he modulates the "A" chord. You had to know how to do this in order to play "Hey Joe" and "Feel A Whole Lot Better When You're Gone" properly.
I always liked this song for some reason. I tried to play it with some guys back in 1968 and they said it sounded too old fashioned. Wouldn't let me do it.

I'm sure you remember that a variation of that little "A" thingy was also used in the song NEEDLES & PINS by The Searchers, a tune written by Sonny Bono, of all peeps.
