John Denver - Annie's Song
You fill up my senses like a night in the forest, like the mountains in springtime, like a walk in the rain, like a storm in the desert, like a sleepy blue ocean. You fill up my senses, come fill me again.
Come let me love you, let me give my life to you, let me drown in your laughter, let me die in your arms, let me lay down beside you, let me always be with you. Come let me love you, come love me again.
You fill up my senses like a night in the forest, like the mountains in springtime, like a walk in the rain, like a storm in the desert, like a sleepy blue ocean. You fill up my senses, come fill me again.
I always liked John Denver. My best friend back in the early 1970s hated him. Said he seemed gay. We used to fight over playing the 8-track when we were driving around.
I had just discoverd down hill skiing when Rocky Mountain High came out and I used to blast it every weekend driving up to the runs in Colorado and Wyoming.
Maybe a little geeky, but a great vocalist. Peaceful joyous music with a lot of heart. If you listen to the lyrics of leaving on a jet plane (it's linked to this video) he gives a short intro to that song and does a live performance of it on a 70's tv show. his comments are spooky, in retrospect- given how he died.
