Maybe Goldi made good on her threat to shut everything down. From what I could see, it has come to the point where every thread is about Ron Paul and his supporters being kooks, anti-American, traitors, etc. If you read through the posts on the threads, they boil down to name calling between the pro and anti- Ron Paul folk.

The anti-Paul people were really working overtime trying to denounce Paul and his candidacy. For people that continuously declared that Paul was a nobody candidate for fringe lunatics, they spent an abnormal amount of time posting anti-Paul articles. It was quite apparent to anyone reading LP that the very existence of Ron Paul in the world is a threat to them and their slavish devotion to big government and the two-party fraud. Yukon, Domer, packratxxxx, Daconia55, boilerplate, calcon, and others are really worried.

Yes, CP shut down months ago, seemingly voluntarily. Can't imagine what would have compelled them to do such a constructive thing.

Maybe Goldi made good on her threat to shut everything down.

I recall that Goldi also made reference to receiving a warning from the site host, that they were being watched, and that further transgression of the host terms of service could result in the host shutting down the site.

The CP Snitz site shut down in July 2006, involuntarily. Their host pulled the plug.

The rather short-lived CP vBulletin site shut down in February 2007. Whether the shutdown was voluntary or involuntary would be known only to those involved with the shutdown. It could have been voluntary, but I have no problem imagining what could have compelled them to do such a thing.

A few days or a week ago on some thread I saw on LP. My recollection is that she also went on to threaten to pull the plug herself if the problems continued. I believe the discussion was about the banning of one or several LP posters.

I'm no fan of Goldi or many others at LP, but if an ISP can take them down, then that is scary.

I doubt it. From my understanding, Goldi got bent out of shape about people posting so many pro-Paul articles and started threatening to ban people. Of course it's perfectly OK to fill the site with anti-Ron Paul articles. There's many more anti- than ther are pro-.

It had to do with Coppertone, a letter to the FBI and someone's real name being posted. I can't remember. There were a lot of people on the thread, so somebody will.

I wasn't aware of that. LP's been around for a long time with no problems that I am aware of. It must have been a pretty bad transgression.

I do not recall anything specific about the transgressions. I did not pay too much attention to this at the time but my somewhat vague recollection is that it had generally to do with the ongoing foodfight between certain posters or about Ron Paul. It may have just been in the nature of certain insults.

Of course it's perfectly OK to fill the site with anti-Ron Paul articles.

Ron Paul now and again sneaks in some very very good statements that people seem to miss and no one asks questions.

On Fox the other nite, he slipped in about Israel having nukes and could take care of themselves. No one questioned him.

I read the statements by Goldi you refer to, and I got it from a link here.

basically Goldi said she was in a job-search. Her previous employer eliminated her section she worked in. she said she really had to work now because she was looking for a job. and she didn't have time to properly monitor the site as she once did when she had a job. and said that if monitoring it was too much work she might shut it down.

Jeremiah 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day [that] I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:

If the site host determines that the site has violated its Terms of Service (TOS) they can pull the plug and the site is offline. This is what was done to the Clown Posse Snitz (using Snitz code) site by its host which was in the UK at that time.

This does not necessarily prevent the site from moving to a new host with its database history intact.

Ain't that the truth. I have no problem with opposing views but people like Yukon, Daconia55, boilerplate, calcon, and others do not debate, they personally attack those who have different views from them. Every post they make is an ad hominem attack. Since they are pro-war though, Goldi lets them get away with it ad nauseum.

Yeah I used to know his last name but have forgotten John something. At the time he owned a cigar shop. He lost that business and moved shortly after putting No Name up. Said he as cheated by his partner. He claimed Master Mind stole CP from him. They did kick him out sort of, that's why he put up No Name. He was still on the paperwork though, the agreement with Hugh since it was Golf who set the site up and worked on all the software. There are those who know a lot more about it than I do since I was not in any loop.

I don't even know how long it's been down. Remember in the past there was computer hardware problems causing a shut-down for a day or so, could be something like that. or if Gold shut it down despite her story for doing it, she acquired (I'd presume bought) a discussion forum & then decided to shut it down. the old FreeRepublic of 1997-2000 was a very excellent forum in terms of communication of important info. many of us remember how that self- destructed. JimRob & wife were facing lawsuits, broke & desperate in late 1990's. and early 2000's they were recovered financially, lawsuits went away (somehow) and they switched to republican only, and then neo-con only. LP & others that splintered from FR saw any variety of means of destruction. I wonder who Goldi really worked for? & others too on LP & at other break-off forums.

one of 4um's advantages is a small number of people who read it. small meaning unimportant in target selection (in information-war). I will say it is a noble thing to run a discussion forum like 4um. because it is so obvious that freedom of speech is under attack in many ways & I would not doubt that Goldi shut it down as 'the company' associates advised her to. same with the others, in 1 means or another they've likely been taken out.

we've done our best to communicate. and there may come a time when we cannot. Someone once compared the old FR to the Liberty Tree's of revolution days. That is when they would post news stories about the war on very large old trees in the forest, treating it like a bulletin board that multiple people would travel up to 100 miles to see & get the news not necessarilly published in the newspapers from the cities controlled by the British.

Jeremiah 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day [that] I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:

Yes, Goldi-lox was pretty upset about all the name calling, etc., that was occurring at the same time that the site host got ticked off about the incident with Coppertone.
