Golfmann said he was the one on the papers. He told me he was working with Hugh to get it shut down. That was before he took his own site out of public view and banned me.
I am reasonably certain CP belonged to Mastermind, not Golfmann.
I believe the site host was spelled Huw but pronounced like Hugh. The host was in the UK and with the name Huw, the host was possibly Welsh.
I also believe (but have no proof) that Golfmann was involved in the shutdown of the CP Snitz site. I have seen that denied. It is just my opinion.

I expect those of you who post here to adhere to the rules that are outlined on the tab, FAQ. Further info is on the tab named "Help".
You are adults. Many of you are in jobs or positions of responsiblity. Why then do so many of you act without any responsibility??
If you can't treat me and each other with respect, then the entire intent of this site is a lost cause.
For those of you who do not already know, I was laid off my job at the end of June due to a business downturn in my specific facility. I am currently engaged in a full time job search. As such, I don't have time or patience to deal with childish antics by those of you who ARE currently employed. I will not be taking time from my search to coddle you.
I have today and yesterday been forced to address issues that I don't have time to be dealing with. As a result, I have banned Gatlin and Rhino369. I have had to close other accounts due to their total internet stupidity. I won't mention their names. I have also deleted several threads where one poster attacked another.
For the time being, these kinds of actions will result in immediate and permanent bannings. I'm not spending my time dealing with you when I need to find a job to support myself.
How inconsiderate of you all.
I am so disgusted with these actions that I may not bother with keeping this site up at all if it continues.
So, go ahead. Bash me in this thread - and you'll make the decision for me.
So you can shape up or ship out. Or the boat goes down with all of you.
You've been given fair warning. Now we'll all see what you do with it.
I am now going back to my primary activity: finding a new job. I won't be on this thread further.
Somewhere on that thread Goldi-lox posts a letter she got from the site host or Coppertone. I think Coppertone wrote a letter to the FBI or some other federal agency. It had to do with their ham radio call letters or their real name being posted. Don't quote me on that. Coppertone also sent a copy (?) of the letter to Goldi-lox. Coppertone was threatening to shut down LP. Goldi-lox banned her.

lawsuits went away (somehow)
The Times Corp. obtained a $1M judgment against FR/Jim Rob. The court found, among other things, that FR was a for-profit, limited liability company.
The litigation was ostensibly settled for $10K and FR agreement to cease using Times Corp. articles. I suspect somebody sort of bought a silent partnership or some significant influence on FR.
The court decisions re the Times Corp. litigation are:
Judge Morrow's Tentative Order. Re: whether Free Republic's republication of Plaintiffs' copyrighted articles constitutes fair use. Case: Los Angeles Times v. Free Republic. Court: U.S. District Court, C.D.Cal., Case No. 98-7840 MMM(AJWx). Date: November 9, 1999.
LOS ANGELES TIMES, and THE WASHINGTON POST COMPANY and its wholly owned subsidiary, WASHINGTONPOST.NEWSWEEK INTERACTIVE COMPANY, Plaintiffs, vs. FREE REPUBLIC, ELECTRONIC ORCHARD, JIM ROBINSON, and DOES 1 THROUGH 10, inclusive, Defendants.
CASE NO. CV 98-7840 MMM (AJWx)
UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE CENTRAL DISTRICT OF CALIFORNIA
2000 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 5669; 54 U.S.P.Q.2D (BNA) 1453; Copy. L. Rep. (CCH) P28,075; 28 Media L. Rep. 1705

III. CONCLUSION
For the foregoing reasons, plaintiffs' motion for summary adjudication with respect to fair use is granted, and defendants' motion is denied.
I think Goldi banned two guys: Gatlin and rhino369. Two other posters whose names escape me at the moment...a guy and a gal somehow baited Gatlin or someone into revealing something like a ham radio handle about one of them, the male poster. Harrowup later reveals that the guy is the infamous TonyMCDC or something along that name.
Anyway Goldi received some sort of nasty, threatening, lawyerly letter telling her that they were going to contact the FBI because revealing private information is dangerous in this day and age, blah, blah, blah. The letter had its intended effect and sent Goldi into a tizzy where she banned Gatlin and on some sort of different offense she banned rhino369 for posting a thread titled Is Yukon Gay? The rhino case is another story but it occurred while Goldi was worried about her ISP shutting her off and the FBI getting involved.
Somehow during that thread or another the two complainers were exposed as some sort of klown posse tag team that infiltrates, they act like normal members and gain acceptance and then they play their little game. Their intent is to shut down web sites, at least that is what is alleged against them. Those are the sketchy details off the top of my head while I'm on an extended little vacation and I'm heading back home tomorrow morning. I hope I haven't muddied the waters on this.
When the dust settled she banned the two klown pussies and will reinstate Gatlin's and rhino's posting privileges two weeks from the date of their 'infractions' which should be pretty soon. I think this site had some of the discussion about rhino369's predicament...he posts here under that screen name.
I also believe (but have no proof) that Golfmann was involved in the shutdown of the CP Snitz site.
That's the one I was talking about. Golfmann had told me prior to his taking NN private that he was talking to Huw to get it shut down because he was still listed with Huw as the owner. Whether that was why it was shut down or not I have no clue I only know what I was told. Golfmann has given me no reason to trust him.

A year or more ago Goldie created a webpage for LP users to go to if LP was down so that they could find out why it was down. I went to that address and found the following:
I don't see what the problem is with Stoner. I just take him with a grain of salt and avoid serious discussions with him. For some reason Stoner made Jhoffa_ blow a gasket.
Did I ever tell you the one where the punchline is, "You blew a seal."?
"We the People Forum" morphed into No Name. The URL is still wethepeopleforum.
Yes I know. Despite the URL the forum was never called We The People. I was there from the beginning. We got used to calling it No Name and it stuck. I left twice because of the secret back rooms though it was denied that they existed. I was even let into them at one point but complained that they were wrong. Too elitist for my tastes.
I was the one who started the daily coffee threads that were popular. When I set up my own site I used the coffee theme. I went back to NN after the back rooms were shut down. By that time most of the older posters were gone. I tried to help bring it back but two people came from other sites and spread gossip about me in PMs. I was accused of all kinds of things including playing moderator and spamming. JackLint (central Scrutinizer) was dominating the forum at that point. I left as it was apparent I was not wanted there. Golfmann turned against me, he even came over to Liberty post once to rip at me. Central still attacks me on Liberty Forum occasionally and one of the gals spreading crap about me in PMs continued on another forum. I refuse to associate with her or her group.

I specified the CP Snitz site because I believe someone else was responsible for the shutdown of the vBulletin site.
Shortly before the host pulled the plug there was talk at CP about a bunch of complaints having been filed with the host and that the site might get shut down. I did not know who the site host was until after the site had been taken down. I was given the address of the AIMOO backup site but I never registered there so I never went past the splash screen. The shutdown did not come as a complete surprise to CP.
I had not previously heard your specific information but what you speak of is what I have always suspected as having happened.
Golf later showed up in the background at CU and ToaK. I believe he was a major source of CP information at both sites. While ToaK sometimes took credit for shutting down the second CP site, I doubt they were responsible.
Do yo know where I could find Yukon? I'd love to troll him to another site...even more I would love to meet him in person one day to find out if his real personality matchs his online personality.
My understanding was that it was an existing, unactivated, entity created by Golf with a working title of We the People. When the break with CP occurred, Golf did not create a new forum from scratch, but finished up the long-dormant site-in-progress and opened it for posting. As Columbo, I was among the charter members of the site before it had a name, and subsequently the name No Name was settled upon.
I got into a disagreement with Cold Heat about whether WMD were in Iraq. It was on the thread Who Is Lying About Iraq? started by Golfmann on 11/10/2005, quoting an article by Normal Podhoretz. I argued the side that no WMD were found. Golf stepped in to change the subject and when I declined, he banned me (11/15/2005). It appears that the thread has been deleted at NN, but I retain a copy.
Yeah you are probably right. I'm just glad I'm out of it all. It wasn't worth it. The back stabbing and constant gossip gets old after a while.
It was fun for a while. A lot of changes happened on the board and it seemed to fracture when the Guild members came over from FR. After that, the "posse" spent the bulk of its time attacking each other. Eventually, I also concluded it wasn't worth it and left. I was just going to stop posting and go quietly, but it did not quite work out that way.
