While going through boxes of old stuff to throw away, I found all these old 45s:

"What I'd Say" -- Jerry Lee Lewis.

"Groovin'" -- the Young Rascals.

"Indian Giver" -- the 1910 Fruitgum Company

"Bernadette" -- Four Tops

"My Baby Loves Lovin'" -- White Plains

"Whole Lotta Shakin' Going On" -- Jerry Lee Lewis

"Nothing But Heartaches" -- the Supremes

"I'm Living in Shame" -- Diana Ross and the Supremes

"You're Driving Me Crazy" -- Ella Fitzgerald

"Take Me Home Country Roads" -- John Denver

"Jean" -- Oliver

I have no idea where these records came from. I suspect they are my sister's and my mom's. I don't remember ever buying 45s -- and there are very few of these I would buy.

I'd have bought the Rascals.

I would too but that 1910 Fruitgum Company has to be my sister's.

If they have picture sleeves, a few of those are worth money. And Indian Giver is actually a pretty cool song. The Ramones did a great cover of it.

Nope, just the 45s.

I found a box of 45's and 78's in the back of our shed, most had their sleeves but the dampness ruined them and stuck them to the vinal. To top that off, a bag of dirt opened up above them.

I've looked up how to clean them but all I found was for minor dirt and dust. Any idea how, or are they a total loss?

C'mon Yertle, admit it...the Fruitgum is yours!

Confession time: Whenever I hear "Yummy, Yummy" on the oldies station, I cannot get that freaking song outta my head!!

I was always under the impression it is okay to clean vinyl with soap and water. Sounds like you could just soak them for a few days to get the stuff off.

Did they play it really fast? :)

Faster than the original, but not buzz saw fast.

Thanks,

That sounds about my only option. I'll give it a shot with the broken one and let you know how it turns out.

Does anyone know where I could put MP3's up for posting? I had a lot of old stuff on tape that I recently had transferred to CD. I can now rip the CD to an MP3 but I can't post it. Is there something like the photo sites where I can put up music for posting?

.

You can post music at any music service like Limewire.
