Using a tree for a metaphor for women, very appropriate. A really wonderful song by Mr. Lightfoot that never got the airplay it deserved.
More like because how the love of other life forms such as trees manifests itself in my being. But this song is just one of many of his I really love to listen too.
Gordon Lightfoot was here this Summer preforming an outdoor concert that I greatly enjoyed. He is 69 year old, and his ensemble has been with him for decades and the quality of their work and the creativity and heart of Lightfoot's body of work I have enjoyed a long time.
He is my favorite singer songwriter, and has been since the early seventies. If anyone wants to know what kind of music and poetry resonates my being, all they have to do is listen to Gordon Lightfoot.
I hope he lives a long time.
