On Carol Ann Gotbaum, one of our valued readers noted to me this morning that the reason they allow police to use tasers is due to the fact that so many of those police need to control die as a result of choke holds.- Email received
- One of the thugs used a choke hold on her. she was probably screaming and cursing them and one of them got angry and put the choke hold on her to shut her up...but got carried away and killed her. It's extremely easy to do. Many have died from this maneuver...that was one of the reasons tasering became so popular... choke holds can kills quickly...ask any cop.

- Choke Hold Use In Law Enforcement
- The law-enforcement lateral vascular neck restraint (also called sleeper hold) is a widely taught blood choke in law enforcement, and is performed from the behind by putting an arm around the neck with the crook of the elbow over the midline of the neck. By pinching the arm together while assisting with the free hand, the carotid arteries and jugular veins are compressed on both sides of the neck. This hold does not put any pressure on the airway, but can quickly turn into an air choke if the person being strangled resists the hold by attempting to turn around.[4]
- Due to risks of fatal injuries, law enforcement agencies may discourage, restrict, or forbid its use. The Los Angeles Police Department, for example, prohibited its officers from using the air choke and restricted use of the carotid hold to instances where death or serious bodily injury was threatened in about 1985, after routinely using chokeholds for many years.[6] The Singapore Police Force does not include any form of chokehold procedures in its unarmed defensive techniques.

- Ehrlich: However, the connect the dot reality with what we have before us today is the added dimension of the shackling and the MOUTH TO MOUTH by one of the officers (manifestly one of the arresting officers and if so then a slam dunk that she was abused). The Phoenix police statement pointed out that the female officer just saved someone's life that week (this inclusion happens psychologically to reflect a consciousness of guilt) but let me see the names of the officers going back into the detention cell administering mouth to mouth (the one whom Gotbaum vomited into his mouth).
- So remember that the reality here is not only to unmask the truth but to allow you to yourself connect the dots.

- "Why is the time on the camera 1 hour ahead of alleged arrest time? This is real time, no? its shouldn't be in EST. CCTV is in real time for the time of the location it takes place.. I cant explain why there is an hour difference.

- Ehrlich: I have to say that the time on the surveillance video is not correct. Since third party medical assistance was called prior to that time, it would speak to the conclusion that the time as a lot of goes today in the name of security AND NATIONAL SECURITY is WRONG. The simple answer is that the people there were too lazy to roll back the clock on the video by one hour. It is the same attitude displayed in going to the scene and so quickly taking her down (three police officers to take down one woman).

- Ehrlich: I don't know who is commenting about the events but I would guess someone protecting the police. You must watch this video. The woman obviously is distraught and the reaction is so overboard. First, three tsa officers surround her then three police officers approach and what they do in near immediately take her down and cuff her bands behind her back. Then the commentator throws in they tried to then to calm her down (unsuccessfully) before then dragging her from the scene. The commentator via supplemental video shows that she was passively resisting her arrest and also still shouting on her way to being taken to the detention cell.
- Ehrlich: Thus my analysis of late last night (early AM) stands. As bad as the entire arrest episode was it was nothing to the facts keeping her handcuffed when in a detention cell and then compounding it by shackling her to a table when the Phoenix police themselves said she was deemed a threat to herself or others. Moreover, if she had bruises all about her they are connected to what happened outside the pale of the video. Since I did not note that Gotbaum got a knee to her back re the original arrest then she must have gotten it in the holding cell. That is a dot that centrally then connects to my postulate of what took place.
- The truly sad part to this story is that if she was family connected to the Gotbaums then this story would receive the same short shrift as all the other stories where people are victimized without recourse or relief (justice).
