She turns right for me, making me right-brained. I can make her turn left for several seconds, but as soon as I blink or move, she goes to the right again.

Just watch the 'shadow' beneath her...

I scroll up until only the shadow is visible, and then I can spin her either way. But she always reverts to clockwise, making me right-brained.

I disagree that this is any right/left brain indicator. Clockwise is the more natural perspective.

My first glaces always show clockwise turning. I can make her spin the other way and hold it, but I think the image is skewed a bit.

The shadow of her raised foot suggests counter clockwise rotation, as in clockwise rotation you shouldn't be able to see it only when it's closer to you. That part is interesting since it's contrary to the clockwise rotating, but I think the perspective of clockwise rotation is more natural as your perspective is from above her, looking down slightly. In order for her to rotate counterclockwise, you have to shift your perspective to below her looking up slightly, almost as if you eyeball was at floor level or so, which is less natural.

I think the brain favors the more natural view of being above the subject, which is why we favor the clockwise turning.

Put your mouse where her foot past her other leg and you can see the difference in height.

If someone favors counterclockwise rotation, it might be because they pay more attention to the shadow then the perspective. Maybe.

this is so bizarre.. I thought there was no question she was turning clockwise.. I look at her now and see her going counter clockwise?

Same here. She goes left for a split second, but I lose it and she starts going right again.

I disagree that this is any right/left brain indicator.

I am a skeptic about mind tests like this, so I took the scientific approach.

Here is a short list of the purpose of each side of the brain:

They say on the site that if she is going counter clockwise you are using the left brain, and clockwise the right.

When I first looked at it she was always going counter clockwise, then I came back two days later and looked again, she was till going counter clockwise. I started thinking about fun and happy things and she turned and started going clockwise, so then I started counting and she turn counter clockwise again. Now I can change her at will just by what I am thinking.

She is most certainly turning to the right, I don't see how it could be seen any other way.

OH my gosh!

I looked at that shadow which I hadn't really noticed, focused on it a bit to see it in relation to how she was turning, then looked back at her turning and she appeared to be turning to the left! How interesting!

Same here...I could not get her to turn to the left UNTIL I started focusing on the shadow. Weird. Still don't see the boat, though...

I can do the same thing. If I "think" she goes counter-clockwise; it I "magine" she spins clockwise. Since I mostly think in images anyway, she normally goes clock-wise.

Me too!

So, it all has to do with what you are thinking about at the time. Fascinating.

When I first looked at it, it was clockwise. Then I started counting as you suggest, and it flipped.

So, people are both-brained, but default to one-side, unless the other side is called upon, apparently.

It is fascinating the way that the human mind works. Everyone knows that your mindset can change your perception of a situation, but who would have thought that your mindset could change your visual interpretation of a simple picture!
