This country was birthed by a violent bloody revolution and now we deny our own birthright.

This is a sure indication that the ruling elite government is perhaps having a case of nerves.

They know how ugly it is going to get when the economic wheels finally fall off and we're not that far away.

How ugly? And I ask earnestly to point me in the direction of what precautions one would be wise to take?

Very ugly. Worse than the Great Depression, since there are vastly fewer living on the "family farm" now.

The wise should:
1) Leave the city, find a small spot in the country somewhere where you can grow your own garden, raise your own meats, etc.
2) Get out of the stock markets, and don't leave "money" where it can easily be stolen (especially electronically) like BANKS.
3) Strive to get "off the grid", and produce your own power with solar, wind or something similar.
4) Quit spending on "frivolities". Use it for NECESSARY items such as food. This is directly related to:
5) Stockpile as much of said NECESSARY items (food, toilet paper, etc) as possible - preferably about a 4 year supply.
6) Preserve some "purchasing power" with TANGIBLES - either gold, silver, or things which would be of value in trade.
7) Make sure your "stockpile" includes 2 of the MOST PRECIOUS metals - brass and lead!
8) Perhaps MOST importantly - start NOW!!! You can't prepare when it's too late. Then IF it doesn't happen in your lifetime, no harm done.
