Welcome to the dismantling of America. Brought to you by Kelloggs (Brown and Root).

Let us amend that statement now that we have a change in power in Congress, shall we?

Welcome to the dismantling of America. Brought to you by the Democrat Party who did not have to bring this monstrosity to the floor.

When the power structure changes again, I will amend my statement to reflect the current ruling class. At Chez Mirage, we are equal opportunity bashers of those who infest the halls of the Capitol. It ain't just the Neocons - its all the power-hungry whores in Washington who exist simply to seek power that we bash here.

America is not at war. The military is at war. America is at the mall and the Congress is out to lunch.

But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government

The above is from our nation's founding document, the Declaration of Independence. It's all the warrant I need to be a frickin' "terrorist" in the eyes of this usurping, tyrannical, unconstitutional "government." And proud to be one.

bump this one

formatting sucks, but the message is there for us.

Odd. Funny that the Bill of Rights is a "how to" guide for formenting a revolution.

Amendment #1: Freedom of Religion, Association, and Speech so you can gain allies Amendment #2: This is where you get the guns. Amendment #3: Ensuring the Government can't keep an eye on your house from the inside Amendment #4: Ensuring you can't just be picked up off the street for no reason Amendment #5: If you get caught, you don't have to testify against yourself Amendment #6: Public trial so you can't be 'disappeared' Amendment #7: Jury trial so you can be acquitted Amendment #8: You can get bailed out of jail to keep going Amendment #9: The right to revolt is here

Strange how this is...

Good Lord.

Whatever you do, don't present or discuss the Bill of Rights, because they could be construed as not being properly submissive and respectful of the government.

Our government has lost its way. On both sides, they think they're working for the people on TV who cheer on the neverending war. Will no one stand up in Congress and voice opposition to these unneeded measures?

Worst case is that you wake up one morning and find that the dollar has been devalued by half and eveything is suddenly twice as expensive. There is no doubt that the government is debasing the currency by printing too many dollars. The consequence is that the currency loses its purchasing power.

Losing half your wealth and income would be bad, all right, but things could be a lot worse than that.

I just reread Stefan Zweig's memoir Die Welt von Gestern [The World of Yesterday]. Zweig comments on how much luckier Austrians thought Germans were in 1920 or so than they were. At that point, Austrian currency had lost about 90% of its prewar value, whereas German had lost about 50%. (He adds that Germany eventually had it far worse with the hyperinflation of 1923 -- when German currency lost essentially all of its value.)

To reason, indeed, he was not in the habit of attending. His mode of arguing, if it is to be so called, was one not uncommon among dull and stubborn persons, who are accustomed to be surrounded by their inferiors. He asserted a proposition; and, as often as wiser people ventured respectfully to show that it was erroneous, he asserted it again, in exactly the same words, and conceived that, by doing so, he at once disposed of all objections. - Macaulay, "History of England," Vol. 1, Chapter 6, on James II.

We'd have social disorder like we can't even imagine right now. Riots everywhere. Is that what the government is preparing for?

Now THAT is the question of the decade!!!!!

Congress DID it, now they NEED to use this new "law" to prosecute this administration! But then the administration would claim the law is "ex post facto".

BUT they couldn't make that claim with Iran...

Congress is not going to challenge the administration. If anything, it should be more than clear that we no longer have 3 branches of government that act as checks and balances. The NWO fascists have seized control and all power is now centered in the administration only. I don't see that changing. The public no longer has a voice and the government is moving to make sure that they never do again.

How ugly? And I ask earnestly to point me in the direction of what precautions one would be wise to take?

Very ugly. Worse than the Great Depression, since there are vastly fewer living on the "family farm" now.

The wise should:
1) Leave the city, find a small spot in the country somewhere where you can grow your own garden, raise your own meats, etc.
2) Get out of the stock markets, and don't leave "money" where it can easily be stolen (especially electronically) like BANKS.
3) Strive to get "off the grid", and produce your own power with solar, wind or something similar.
4) Quit spending on "frivolities". Use it for NECESSARY items such as food. This is directly related to:
5) Stockpile as much of said NECESSARY items (food, toilet paper, etc) as possible - preferably about a 4 year supply.
6) Preserve some "purchasing power" with TANGIBLES - either gold, silver, or things which would be of value in trade.
7) Make sure your "stockpile" includes 2 of the MOST PRECIOUS metals - brass and lead!
8) Perhaps MOST importantly - start NOW!!! You can't prepare when it's too late. Then IF it doesn't happen in your lifetime, no harm done.

I'd say we've got about a year of saying what we like, then we'll see some "guidelines" and then some "advisories" and then some crackdowns on specific small, unimportant "hate sites" like Stormfront, and probably under some joint charge like "copyright infringement and fomenting violence"

I think you've broken down the events and listed them into a realistic timeline...sadly enough...
