They didn't know she was pregnant or wasn't armed. Honestly, after watching the video it looks like they did everything they were suppose to do, except the part about writing something up to cover their asses.

Chris Cuomo asked the right question; why did they put her on the ground *after* she exited the vehicle. You heard their orders, “Face away from me, ….get on your knees…lie on the ground..." all this knowing there were two kids in the car? Surely they should have known she was a pregnant female. BTW, how did they get this woman, who they admitted they traumatized, get home? My wife who is a typical female would have promptly left the scene and hit the first stationary object she encountered. And since when does any police officer worth his/her salt take the word of a JC Penney guard seriously? God, these clods posing as cops seem to have watched too many episodes of COPS. They’re a disgrace - and dangerous.
