Ok, I spent a couple days back on El Pee and I am actually less intelligent as a result from my time there.

I can only hope that the collection of truly stupid she malish chickenhawks who inhabit that site are not representitive of even a small fraction of Americans.

Sad, frightening, and depressing. If such posters are representitive of America- then I can only hope this country self destructs before it kills billions of innocent people. Truly deranged personality types.

El peepee might be bad based on your recent experience but in a dodgey sort of way kos is as bad too - I don't post at kos but I lurk there and it is b-a-d - kos is nasty because the kossacks believe that getting rid of booosh and the dickster will win world peace instantly because hillary and obama and edwards are not Israelcentric nor are they at all blood thirsty ( I guess the kossacks didn't check AIPAC's annual fund raiser guest speaker list nor did they realize that the MIC is donating to Hillary's campaign in spades).

Sigh - both sides represent black holes of dispair for their ignorance and for their self-deceptions - of course, it goes without saying that freaker repugnant is the worst of the wad.

Most of us here posted on LP back before Neil left. Then Goldi allowed in a bunch of paid shills and trolls who make discussion impossible; especially close to an election. She banned aristeides for absolutely no reason - none was ever given. He was just too effective. Why stay on a forum with such biased, irresponsible and uneven management?

If you really want to see something pathetic, type yukon's name in the from column on the comments page. The person is literally on LP his/her whole waking day, only taking breaks when he/she sleeps, except for a hour here, 30 minutes there, usually no more than once or twice a day. These are probably times when it must eat food or take a shower. You can go back weeks and see the same thing day after day after day.

You can't help but feel sorry for someone whose life is so empty. It might be different if his posts were the result of deep thinking on important subjects. At least then an argument could be made that he was getting some sort of mental exercise. But his posts are just the opposite. His 15-18 hours a day on LP is spent posting mindless one or two-lined insults to people who have different political views than he does. There is no thought in his posts at all. Besides TBLSHOW, yukon has to be the most pathetic internet poster I've ever encountered.

Geez, I didn't realize that. Now I sorta feel bad for him. Yeah- he rarely posts much but one or two line insults and not even good insults (he often shows that he doesn't even understand what is being talked about by his posts) - but as bad as he is- he is still better than Byeltsin.

My lastest news posts get scant few replies unless I post a thread on 'preverted sex'.

I post only a quarter of what I used to post on this forum because of it and that is OK. Not 'my house' but I still like to visit.

I don't know the number of times I've read you or someone else state what are obviously traditional conservative views only to read some jerkwad respond that you or whoever is a liberal or America-hater. They haven't a clue WTF a conservative is. It truly amazes me how effing stupid some of those people are.

byeltsin is one of the biggest dumbasses on LP. He thinks he's being witty with his meaningless string of word phrases. My guess is it makes him feel superior to everyone else because he's the only one "smart" enough to know what the hell he's talking about.

It truly amazes me how effing stupid some of those people are.

That's why the "forum" format is all but dead and people have drifted off into the blog format- with their own kind. All the major forums were hijacked or sold out to either the GOP or the Dems. FR is a GOP shill site. DU and KOS are Dem shill sites- banning all independent minds that cross their DC dictated party line and allowable parameters of debate.

All the best posters that I used to follow on FR are gone- every single one of them and have been gone for years. All that is left are the one line posters- people who literally can't reason through anything. They are incapable of seeing another perspective. Any disagreement with them is dismissed automatically. They read nothing but their own party line bilge. They make no attempt to honestly assess their opponents arguments - rather preferring to simply dismiss all that threatens their circular world with templates like "Liberal bias" or "Jihad lover" or whatever. No thought required- because they can't think critically (and this is across the board by the way- not just reich wingers- but liberals and Dems are the same if not more so in some cases).

There is no point in arguing with ideologues of the right or left. None.

All the best posters from yesteryear- you have to hunt down and find on blogs here and there.

The spirit of debate and honest discussion that existed on FR in the early years was incredible. 98 to 2001- I learned so much from so many different posters. My views changed because of intelligent honest discussion with other posters (like my views on the Civil War in particular)- and I changed some people's views. Yeah- things got heated on occassion and insults were hurled- but they never dominated a thread as they do now. They were the exception rather than the norm. Go back to FR threads from 2000 and compare them to today. In 2000 on a typical thread you would see multiple mini essays from posters- entire paragraphs of people offering their opinions and analyzing other posts. FR 2007? Insults, one liners, childish comments- most posts never exceeding 20 words- stupid graphics . . .

That would explain the lack of substance too. It's hard to see the collusion if the posts never go deeper than a one line insult at people who fail to follow Hannity's lead. Maybe its two or three College Republicans sharing a house - although yukon doessn't come off as educated, even at the level of a sophmore PE major.

Simple-minded bunch, aren't they? You present reams of evidence, for example, the clean break letter to Netanyahu, the PNAC schemes, statements by various Bush administration officials and by leading neocons, and their response is always, "OOH, OOH, OOH, YOU SAID JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOS!!!!! And they've all managed to convince each other, on sites like LP and FR, that that's some kind of devastating rebuttal. It'd be funny if it wasn't so deadly. What a bunch of maroons.
