My Grundig, big heavy expensive, was worn out so I was looking for a new short wave multi purpose travel radio.

I spent several hours on the net and decided on KAITO 1101, made in China, but made well, as far as I can Tell.

This seems to be a superb powerful radio in a very small package. You can charge the AA Ni Cd batteries without taking them out of the radio!, digital tuning, OK sound quality for a small unit and superior signal capturing ability.

Dang good device, for about $50. Recommended.
