A few months ago, we had a lot of GARBAGE posts on the right sidebar. They were all FRIVOLOUS stories about Ron Paul.

Up until today I liked him.

But his supporters have come here to spam LP, and now I DON'T like HIM or THEM.

I was reasonable in the past and asked that articles be posted here that were NEWSWORTHY ABOUT HIM, WITH A LIMIT OF 2 A DAY.

Just this evening, there were 13 posted. THIRTEEN!!! And not ONE of them had anything newsworthy to report.

All of them were of the variety: "Alert, Ron Paul just scratched his crotch!!" Or "Ron Paul stepped in dogs**t".

The supporters of Ron Paul have PROVEN that they cannot control themselves. "Reasonable" is not a word in their vocabulary.

So, due to their IRRESPONSIBLE and IRRATIONAL behavior, their SPAMMING of Liberty Post...I have made a decision:

FROM THE TIME THIS IS POSTED...NO RON PAUL ARTICLES ARE TO BE POSTED HERE AT ALL. EVER. (ONE EXCEPTION: IF HE GETS ASSASSINATED OR SOMETHING SIMILAR AND IS 24/7 ON ALL NEWS CHANNELS. [Probability is less than zero on that.]) ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Paulites: You did it to yourself. Not me.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Our bandwidth has gone from $240 to $365 for the past two months, and it has depleted our funds to negative zero. Which means I have to pony it up....and will need to run a fundraiser SOONER because of it.

Face it folks, they stole it from YOU!! The contributors of LP!!

I don't think those who contributed money to keep LP up and running meant for it to be used for some stupid unreasonble spammers to run amok on.

So, just to be clear....

NO MORE ARTICLES ABOUT RON PAUL ARE PERMITED ON THIS WEBSITE. VIOLATORS WILL BE BANNED.

NOT EVEN ONE

NOT EVEN TWO

ZERO!!!

If this thread gets out of control...it goes to the Biker Bar or will be REPOSTED without the remarks, and the remarks will be removed.

Note: For those who feel that they cannot stay on LP due to this decision: Sorry, but that's the way it is. Find or FUND someplace that is all Paul all the time. The abuse of LP ends today. I don't care who likes it or not. You've made your bed, now you get to sleep in it. This decision is NOT open for discussion. This is a "command decision" or what ever you choose to call it: Edict; directive; command, whatever. It is what it is. A RULE. And I don't care if you hate me or not.

She deleted the articles so she couldn't be called on it but the overwhelming number of articles about Ron Paul were anti-Paul articles posted by AuntB, Out damned Spot, DAnconia55 and Sardine Sandwich.

It's her site and she can do what she wants but she should at least be honest about it.

I have to admit that a lot of Ron Paul articles are trivial and deal with minutia. I have no desire to see Ron Paul turned into an object of veneration like Bush is at Freakerland. He is a man. Yes- I am excited by his candidacy. Yes- I think he is right on most of the issues. But he is a man. One man. I don't need to know about every online poll. I don't need to know about his every appearence. General news forums shouldn't be clogged up with the daily doings of Ron Paul. Neither should they be clogged up with idiotic anti Paul posts and vanities (which is most of what is posted on LP by the way).

I used to visit the Lew Rockwell blog several times a day- but 90 percent of what they blog about is Ron Paul now- non effing stop- nearly every post. Snoooooze. I visit less now.

Look, Ron Paul is an exciting outside the Beltway candidate who is principled and refreshing. I am glad he is running. But frankly- our Mega DC government is way past the point where any one man can do much to reform it, reel it in, or even effect it that much. There is something a bit off- about a bunch of libertarians and old rightists who don't think the Presidency should have that much power- who constantly complain about how that branch has grown outside of all proportion- who bitch about people looking at the Presidency as some sort of Savior God King seat- cheering on a man night and day running for that seat- like any BOT or Demhead does for their two party fraud candidate.

Understood and I agree to a certain extent, but that's not the point. For the past couple of weeks the overwhelming majority of the articles posted about Ron Paul have been posted by Sardine Sandwich and they've been anti-Paul blogs which he posts all day long.

You've lost me, Burke. Paul is not running like any BOT or Demhead does. He's "running" (I put "running" in quotes, because he's not really running anything) the most incredible campaign of my lifetime. Incredible, because it perfectly embodies the principles of Libertarianism. What we are witnessing, is spontaneous order created by free men with free minds coming together, bringing their individual creativity and energies to bear like never before in the modern political arena, creaming the top-down, centrally-planned old-style campaigns of the would-be tyrants of the DemGOP Establishment party.

Don't ya get it, Burke? This campaign is not about one man. It's about we, the American people, rising up to take our government back. It is a new chapter in the history of freedom beginning to be written. Why are you so negative about this? Are you afraid we might...actually...WIN?

That doesn't sound right. She's blaming the Ron Paul supporters in her post, so it's apparent she sees that the majority of articles are pro Ron Paul. Unless she's just trying to make it look like it's the supporters' fault.

Unless she's just trying to make it look like it's the supporters' fault.

That's EXACTLY what she is doing...LP was cluttered with silly Ron Paul posts all day, and it has been going on for a few weeks. Very few Paul articles were posted by supporters, but the arguing back and forth was making it look like there were more Paul threads than there actually were. She warned posters about Paul threads a few weeks ago; and that is exactly when this group of posters cited above started posting frivilous Paul threads. Any idiot could see that; but Sally chose it as an opportunity to ban Paul from her forum. She had an agenda, plain and simple.

Her attitude mirrors the GOP establishment's. Increased voters are welcome only when they vote for neocon fascists. LP, like the GOP, would rather die than live for peace and freedom. Unless Ron Paul is nominated, the GOP will have their deathwish granted. And LP's demise won't be far behind.

Don't ya get it, Burke? This campaign is not about one man. It's about we, the American people, rising up to take our government back. It is a new chapter in the history of freedom beginning to be written. Why are you so negative about this? Are you afraid we might...actually...WIN?

I don't see him as being negative, but I've also noticed a certain cult-like adoration for this one man that I find disturbing, because it is the same mentality of the bots, just the other side of the coin. I will most likely vote for Ron Paul, but I'm not going to become obsessed with him.

I'll vote for Ron Paul in the primary & write his name in for the general election. But I have no faith that our 'system' that is even honest or that our people will do the right thing. many of our people prefer delusion & ignorance or just plain don't care even. and for all Ron Paul's good qualities he is just a man.

we are a captive people ruled over by an evil clique.

Look, Ron Paul is an exciting outside the Beltway candidate who is principled and refreshing. I am glad he is running. But frankly- our Mega DC government is way past the point where any one man can do much to reform it, reel it in, or even effect it that much.

I agree Burke. If Paul makes a speech, or say like last week an appearance and beats the FED chairman over the skull on live tv, I'd like to see it or read about it, but the vanity articles, or just general postings, I just skip.

IF Paul would win, the military-intelligence/congress/corporation of DC is so out of control, so corrupt, is so manipulated and debased, and has decades of entrenchment all the way back to WW2, I don't see him turning it around.

To fix "America" would cause incredible amount of pain across the spectrum of American life. The majority of citizens in this country couldn't withstand it. Americans that REALLY want individual freedom, independence, choice, responsibility is on the decline.

America hasn't been America in a very, very long time, there isn't much to cheer or be proud about.

Paul is not running like any BOT or Demhead does. He's "running" (I put "running" in quotes, because he's not really running anything) the most incredible campaign of my lifetime. Incredible, because it perfectly embodies the principles of Libertarianism.

Then, he should quite the GOP ASAP.

The GOP is no longer associated with Libertarianism or with 'liberty' but with war, torture, statism, cult of the leader and, lately, insanity. Ron Paul should separate himself from this organization and OPPOSE the 2 puppets put forward by the two 'major parties'. Now THAT would be 'incredible' and, very likely, EFFECTIVE too.

I will have to disagree. Someone as Ron Paul has ZERO chances as a GOP presidential candidate. He has 'larger than zero' chances as a non Demo-GOP. He COULD energize the 'independents', possibly some of the 50% that almost never vote and maybe even some tiny minorities of Demos and GOPs. That MIGHT give him the edge over Hillary and Rudy.

It's for the first time I am saying this and I pray that it does NOT come to this.

President Giuliani would bring this country the ruin and blood that Bush's presidency brought but bring it a hundredfold. Hillary would keep us on the path to disaster but she may not push as down as energetically as Giuliani would.

I respectfully disagree with your observation. Everything you say about Ron Paul above, I agree with except one man can and many 'one man' has proven how much effect and control they have over people, government, courts, economy, and the destruction of our Conxtitution and our civil liberties.

When you have a gutless nitwit sitting on the throne in the Whitehouse, a real dummy, he can be led around by the nose, make decisions for or against legislation that effects us all. I guess hoodwinked would fit the operative here. Then you vote in someone like Ron Paul, a real statesman, intlligent, honest, and steadfast in his principles, it sure as hell effects everything and everyone, not only in our country, but throughout the world. Look how farreaching the Ron Paul reveloution is becomming. Citizens of other countries are pulling for his election, That shoul tell us all a lot about how one man can make a difference; be the difference.

I grant you bush didn't make all the decisions himself, but he is not capable nor really qualified to be sitting in that chair in the Whitehous. To him it is a chance to continue being a cowboy. Then there is the dick cheney who is one man who is really running the show and he is nothing short of pure evil. Does this one evil man have an effect on our lives? This one man Satan?

bush is happy playing the role of president while those who only have their own interests at heart are running roughshod over our lives, the laws of our country and terrorising us and the world. Elect a Ron Paul and you can bet your sister's cat's ass things would change and an 180 degree turn would happen. Not all at once of course, but the scurge foisted upon U.S. would be on the defensive and eventually reversed. Then you would begin to see the right people being rounded up, put in jail, waterboarded, tortured, and put on trial for all their crimes. I do believe a Ron Paul presidency would see one man clean up this tyranny that now rules over us.

A tyranical dictator acting thug like we now have (pick your personal tyrant) says don't do as I do, do as I say. A one man show like Ron Paul will roll up his sleeves, pitch in and help undo(throw out the shit), leading by example and that my friend will make the wheels go round instead of falling off the wagon. Ron Paul doesn't want to be a pretend president. He knows one man can't do it all by himself. But he damn well knows he can lead by example, not only here at home, but in our dealings with the rest of the world.

With Ron Paul, the buck stops at his desk, not with BIG OIL or defense contractors! He's the real deal. THE ONE MAN!!!!

No, Paul is pointing out daily that the GOP has been taken over by nasty forces. He has done this by lifting up the platform Bush ran on in 2000, no nation building, returning dignity and honor to the whitehouse. He has shown that everything THEY said, were packs of lies. Paul's record speaks to each of these pervertions brought upon the country, and further illustrates Democrats veiled objections to the machine rolling over all things Constitutional.

If there is a difference between parties, show it. There is not. However, we are forced to deal with ingrained political thinking that a two party system exists, and it is not not likely easily changed in a cycle or two.

I do watch Lou Dobbs from time to time, and reacently he has been reading emails from people who have changed their party ID to Independent, and can vote either way. This is good news to me. What is best is for people to realize what those parties actually stand for today, as you brilliantly defined. Then, take the next step to stand for a change.

Yes, and nothing he can do and say for the next few months is going to earn him the GOP nomination. The GOP is the party whose members continue to approve of Bush, of the Iraq war and of a future Iran invasion. 70% of them agree with all of the above. Ron Paul can NOT be nominated by these people so if he wishes to become the nominee of this party, he wishes to be defeated.

Asking him to change to Independent is giving the media a license to ignore him. That's the way I see it. So, I guess there are a bunch of non-support supporters just having some giggles.

I can't vote for him in the GOP primary because I quite the GOP in 1998 or 99

So you want him to change for your benefit. And you've said he can't win GOP or Ind. So what's the use? Just stay home. Accept the status quo and know all it would've taken is filling out a little card. FCOL.

He has been asked who he would endorse if he loses, on his Jay Leno appearance, it's on YouTube if you want to see it. But he said, NO ONE. If they do not hold his values, he will not endorse anyone. I expect he is a man of his word, as he has been one all along.

His supporters are not cultists, and won't blindly fall into the shoot to the slaughterhouse. I myself, will not vote for evil again. So, I'll sit it out. That's where my conscience is at peace.

But, you find yourself in a quandry, what flavor of the status quo will you ally with. Choose your stick pony now, and save some dissappointment. I am not a party person. I'm an American. Party politics have poisoned peoples minds.

The purpose of separation of church and state is to keep forever from these shores the ceaseless strife that has soaked the soil of Europe with blood for centuries. James Madison (1751-1836),Father of the Constitution for the USA, 4th US President

alot of people think byteshredder is Conservababes' ALS.

Didn't Byteshredder get busted for fishing IPs last year sometime? I recall someone did and right after they got busted, they admitted to doing it.

That would go along with the old ALS tactic of posting a dumb picture on every thread to collect IPs on his server.

Siren of the Sardine can really wants that forum spammed with threads giving Bush a PR blowjob (example: Bush: A Great President) and that place is now not worth even scanning, never mind posting at it.

It and another Goldi carpetbagger, Cash Wakefield/byteshredder - and who knows who else - are part of the crew Goldi calls in at election time to spin doctor her forum away from free speech toward any GOP cliff to jump off of politically.

All the blogs fish can butt cites are sites that laud Isreal and the proxy war the U.S. fights at their behest.

I was kicked for posting an article on May Day from an anti-Minuteman source as part of my criticism of them. This move by her is just something she does all the time anyway, I am not shocked to hear about this.

My criticism was cencored, she censors any opinions she doesn't like that gains any traction in forum.

Liberty Post has become like a toilet bowl drinking dish for her pet wet doggies. She has learned from Jim Robber well.

Point taken, and I there's obviously a level of excitement about Ron Paul from freedom lovers that's unprecedented. Cult-like? Okay, I'll concede that.

But in this case, it's warranted. And it's not about Ron Paul. It's about his candidacy. He mentioned on one of his interviews that it wasn't him that people were excited about, but his ideas of freedom.

And given the state of the nation, the long train of presidents sold to special interests and being clueless about the Constitution and so many other things, I think we can permit ourselves a cult-like excitement over the possibility of a President Paul.

Would those bandwidth prices be correct? I've heard so many conflicting prices depending on the site and layout.

The cost to have a web server co-located in an internet facility runs into the low 3 digits. Since the server presumably hosts only LP, then yes, LP donors would be footing that whole bill.

But I am a bit puzzled that LP costs would actually rise due to increased bandwidth usage. I'm not familiar with their ISP of course, but 4um is the heaviest website on this server (by far), and we're no where near exceeding existing limits. I'm sure LP gets more postings than 4um, but if they are breaking bandwidth limits, then they are either getting visits very much out of proportion to their postings or they don't have the best deal in hosting. I suspect the latter.

That's another thing though. What makes her think that Ron Paul is the reason for her increased bandwidth? LP doesn't have view counts on threads like we do here, and it would not be easy to tell what subject on LP is generating any spike in traffic.

No, I said that he CAN win as an independent.

Okay, where's the math on that?

;)

It's for the benefit of this country. Salvation does not lie in the 2-party system. That's where political damnation emanates.

You are right, but Independents are ignored. So, why build another hill to climb? Right now, as it is, he's taking them on square in the face. And I am enjoying the hell out of it.

Many years ago I watched Robert Kennedy when he ran for Senator from NY.

Most of the crowd at the airport were women. As they were leaving I asked one what Kennedy had to say that she liked. She paused and then said, "I dont know what he said, but he said it well."

No, I said that he CAN win as an independent.

Okay, where's the math on that?

Here's the math:

70% of the Independents (THAT'S WHY HE NEEDS TO RUN AS AN INDEPENDENT), 10-15% of the GOPs and Demos. That should add up to more than 35% which, in a 3-way race, wins the race if the remainder is evenly distributed between the other 2 and within the states.

RP may be able to get more than 70% of the Indies and I expect him to get more than 15% of the GOPs because the pro-lifers will have nowhere else to go and more than 15% of the Demos because the anti-wars won't have anywhere else to go if they had Rudy and Hillary as their parties candidates.

597. To: Goldi-Lox, malador, ALL here - pro or anti Ron Paul (#0)

First off to everyone, I've been doing a new job so I don't have much time to post, alas, so please excuse me if I haven't been responding.

Now to the issue. While I understand and can appreciate your money concerns, Goldi, this appears to be more about censorship and silencing the Ron Paul campaign than about bandwidth concerns. I have seen countless anti-Ron Paul threads posted repeatedly, sometimes several in a day, by posters like sardine. If you don't want "frivolous" postings in favor of Ron Paul, you should not allow "frivolous" postings against him either.

Whether you like him or not, Ron Paul is a genuine phenomenon in our current political climate, and he is the ONLY candidate who is not business per usual. The rest ON BOTH SIDES are just egomaniacal pirates who want their turn at the taxpayers trough. Or they want to seize power and control the mass of people. Money and power - that is LITERALLY all the main candidates in this race are about. Ron Paul (and some of the other lesser candidates like Tancredo and Hunter), offers something different. WE NEED SOMETHING DIFFERENT RIGHT NOW. If we continue in the next election with business as usual, it will result in the destruction of the country. We are THAT close to the edge of the abyss.

For you to attempt to quell support for Ron Paul makes you the equivalent on this site of Jim Robinson on FR. I know it's your site and you can do what you want, but you want to impose this type of censorship, you really can't any longer wave a banner of freedom and liberty when in practice, you want to deny it.

I think all discussions of ALL candidates should be allowed, certainly in this next CRUCIAL, election. Otherwise you should simply disband the site and call it a day, as it will be pointless if we can only discuss "approved" candidates.

Someone as Ron Paul has ZERO chances as a GOP presidential candidate. He has 'larger than zero' chances as a non Demo-GOP. He COULD energize the 'independents', possibly some of the 50% that almost never vote

Perhaps, but he should stay in the GOP through the primaries for the publicity alone, and decide later if he wants to go independent. If he should get the R nomination, he should definitely keep it, particularly if Hillary is the alternative.

Bush's agenda of war, torture, outsourcing out economy, trading individual liberty for 'security', national bankruptcy via over-spending and borrowing and cancer-like growing state. The GOP is the party whose members continue to approve of Bush, of the Iraq war and of a future Iran invasion. 70% of them agree with all of the above.

I don't believe that. 70% of Americans want us out of the the ME. Granted R's make up the majority of the remaining 30%, but as the only anti-war candidate, Paul can attract a plurality to win primaries where the pro-war R's are splitting their votes up among the remaining candidates.

VRWC, thanks for saddling up with some math. You know what they say, Courage is being scared to death, but you saddle up anyway.

The issue with Indy's, IMO, is the fact they are marginalized if not ignored by the media. Further, there are huge pots of cash available to the actual candidate when nominated.

RP has played this game before, running as a Libertarian. I believe he knows far more about his strategy than we do.

If one is committed to supporting him, one will not worry about party affiliation and follow wherever. I know I will. I see that people are pulling their legs from concrete and shackles to do what is right for the country, for themselves.

If, he should changed to the pink fedora party with the peacock feather, I, will vote for him. I am voting for the man. But, the game is the game, and the PTB have already fashioned a way out of the people having a choice.

Been nice fighting with you! ;)

Vast, the last election proved that not to be the case.

Dems were 'swept' into power for a change. His poll numbers and those that support him reflect the ignorant and his real benefactors. All bottom feeders.

Dem poll numbers have tanked.

Congress' numbers blow.

These are for the people paying attention.

There are a large number of voters now that are not captured in true polling, as you are no doubt aware.

I think the light is brighter than you might think. I think the people are smarter than ever given credit for. And that is evident, by the smell of fear in the media.

I have stayed away from this site over the past two months mostly because of the anti-Paul articles that I felt were spamming the site. Yes, there were pro-Paul articles, but they were probably 20% of all articles posted about this candidate. It appears to me that those who hate Paul have won this battle. They have had him banned from this site. It will be interesting to see if these posters hang around and contribute anything of value to this site, or if they will move on to another forum, adopt another screen name, and start the attacks again.

Those promoting Ron Paul are generally doing so because this candidate has been doing the unthinkable; talking truthfully and actually supporting and protecting the U.S. Constitution.

Goldi is all about canned political results groomed and managed because she thinks people like her know what's best for us even if the rest of us don't realize this yet.

"Independent" sounds all fine and good until you have a reality check.....and that is that Ron Paul, being in Congress, KNOWS the rules are stacked to favor EITHER the demos or the gopers! He KNOWS the rules have been stacked to where THIRD PARTIES haven't much of a snowball's chance in hell of even getting beyond the legal battles to get on the ballot!

The $12 million hoped to be raised in the 4th quarter wouldn't cover all the legal problems in the 50 states. Recall that Perot spent MILLIONS fighting in New York. AND THEN, once he won, he had to pay people to help get enough signatures.

You can't wait til election time to clear all the hurdles......especially when the hurdles are moving targets--much of which depends on the per centage of votes garnered in the prior election.

I'd dearly love to see the independents come out sluggiing and win--but as a realist I have to CONCEDE that the deck/rules are stacked against them--and 2 years isn't enough time to counter this stacking mess.

Additionally, your numeric keyboard portion has a plus and a minus sign, as well as a period. It also has the * and a diagonal slash /. And for the hell of it, there is also an ENTER key on the numeric side.

Its impossible to see Ron's message coming out of the lips of a mitt, a juli, a mccain--and think they could possibly be telling the truth or being straight arrows. Ron refuses to even attempt to spout their bullshit--he knows its wrong and no one would believe it coming from the likes of him. I believe Ron has a conscience.

What are you going to do Sherlock? Inquiring minds would like to know. Now be truthful when you tell us because you already told us a lie like the bushbots always do. Yes you can vote for him simply by registering Republican and vote in your primary race for Ron Paul. Then you can go back to the party of hiliary for the general election. Simple as that.

Exactly what I have done. This coming primary will be the first one that I will be able to vote in as I basically am registered Independent. And just as you say you can't vote for him in the primary, it truthfully is because you deep down have a desire for one of the other candidates.

There is a distinction on this.

Now, these twinks have gone over to other sites to spew their stuff. Same people, same MO.

It was not the supporters. It was the detractors.

Why do people keep trying to convince Goldi she's made a mistake and are pointing to the wrong group? Shes fully aware of who and what is posted..this is not a case of mistaken identity this is is the RNC taking a dump on LP.

Ron Paul realized that to get elected to Congress, he had to run as "R" rather than Libertarian, whether he liked it or not. Another example: remember that Pat Buchanan won some primaries when he ran in 1992 and 1996 as a Republican, and wound up with 0.4% of the vote when he ran 3d party.

I hate the GOP as much as anyone, but I also realize that the only way for a candidate with a good message to break through is within the two party system. I'll cringe when I do it, but I'll register GOP in this election just like I did in 1992/6.

In 2008 the 2 'candidates' presented by the Demos and the GOPs are going to be so similar, it would be very difficult to brainwash the masses again into believing that they are making a meaningful choice by voting for one of the 2.

Again, RP has ZERO chances of being nominated by the party of Bush, Giuliani and Podhoretz. This is the way it is and him raising one trillion dollars would not change it. However, as in independent (NOT THIRD PARTY) he might beat the monster and the robot (guess who's who :)) ).

By the way, if he DOES win the presidency, I expect him to be assassinated - a great pretext for imposing a full police state - or to get very sick very quickly and die, which would be good for Goldie's site because she will be able to allow one last RP article to be posted there.

Then Paul should stay in the GOP for the primaries to make the biggest impact, and then run Third Party in the General Election (even though he says that he will not do this). I can't wait to hear the GOPidiots shouting that a vote for 3d party Paul is a vote "stolen" from Giuliani, even though no Paul voter would ever support Giuliani anyway.

This is why he should NOT stay for the primaries:

- There will be no time for him to organize after the primaries.
- He will be a 'defeated' GOP rather than a proud 'independent'.
- There are no debates and therefore no more 'exposure', once the primaries begin.

The time to get out of the GOP swamp is one minute after the last GOP debate ends.

Don't forget the apathetic voters who don't bother to register and/or vote because they believe all politicians are corrupt. That makes up about 60% of eligable voters, and Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate on either side that has the potential to tap into that base. Obviously getting all those votes means you don't even need to get a single vote from any voter from the 2000 or 2004 election to win.

True, but if he were running as a Libertarian right now instead of a Republican, he'd be completely invisible. Even Pat Buchanan became invisible the minute he went from GOP to Reform Party.

Nope on the Boers.........I had my hands full with the Angoras--at least I got a valuable, rather easily sellable product from them in the Mohair. But if I never have another goat or pig it will be tooooooooo soon.

The Boer muscularly reminds me of the double muscled Piedmont cattle of Italy. I have seem a couple of them, and they were like musclebound. AND, in both cases--the Piedmont and the Boer--the cost was over=rated. They tried the same thing with the llamas and alpacas--very high costs, and then it got to where they were trying to give away llamas. Ditto on cashmere goats--only with them it is a real crap shoot, because crossbreds do not breed true and it takes a good while to set a breed. And a crossbred non-cashmere goat is about good for weed patch patrol, if you're lucky; else they're into rose bushes, and everything else they can possibly get in to.

Let me say this again, and again, and again: RP is currently seeking the nomination of the party that, according to any number of polls, is 70% behind George W. Bush and George W. Bush's agenda of war, torture,

Well even if that's true, the defunct plurality election system only allows one vote per voter in the R primaries, and there are some 8 candidates. So if Ron gets the 30% of R's that have had it with the war and the other seven split the remaining 70% (10% each), then Ron wins the R nomination.

Once the primaries begin he will be getting near-zero coverage no matter what. As you might have noticed, all primaries coverage is about horse races, not ideas and only the first 2 or 3 top 'vote getters' are covered. In the GOP, those are going to be Giuliani, Romney and Thompson/McCain. Ron Paul, Hunter and Tancredo are going to be the weirdos given a couple of seconds, just for laughs.

As an independent? He'd be in worse shape than the L party--IIRC, they, at least, are recognized by some states as a legit party based on prior voting stats.

Ron, to get on the ballot in every state, would have hurdles such as not seen before. Candidates today are raising $80 - $100 million........hell, Ron would need that to face the hurdles each state's demon and repuk party try to raise to 'legit' keep him off the ballot.

Find the stories about Perot and what it took in NY alone! And not just 'legal' fees; he was having to pay people to collect signatures in fast time.

This 'independent' stuff is just another hurdle being tossed out there for Ron Paul to have to jump over.

Next hurdle will be 'well, they could just write his name in'.......sure they can......as soon as he is able to make contact with all voters.....because they sure as hell won't see him on tv.......and with all the campaign funds going to legal fees and other such crap, there won't be big bucks to advertise his face, whether pretty, ugly, or in between, that would make his name known or remembered by anyone.

The two-headed monster made all the campaign and election rules to 99.999% guarantee one or the other of them are elected.

I can tell you a little bit about the apathetic voter. First and foremost, you have to be able to reach out to them, to talk to them. Their names aren't on the polling records kept by the counties and given to campaigns (for a fee). It would take cross referencing with phone directories--and how do you get those cell-phone folks.

When I ran for office, one of the most disheartening things I encountered was the apathetic voter. Going door to door and meeting folks who l) didn't even know an election was coming up or 2) wouldn't bother to register or vote because 'they're all crooked'.

Trying to break through the latter one is the hardest to accomplish. You can't just walk up and say, hi, here's my brochure and leave---these people need the one on on contact to talk through, to be convinced there is a difference.

My heart wasn't in it; and there was only a handful of those that I bothered to make contact with again.

And so, if Ron has tons and tons of local volunteers, these folks have to be prepared especially for this type of confrontation--it knocks the wind out of ones' sail, so to speak.

The same could be said of the beefalo and now buffalo craze(s). I want no part of buffalo--you just about need a solid concrete 6 - 8 ft high retaining wall to keep them in. I knew some fellas that got several--they wuz gonna make it with these buffalo cows.

They made it all right! One of them broads caused them to lose about 2 weeks worth of work and untold fortune in gas, and a set of tires and a wrecked trailer trying to catch up to here.......everyone up in the valley where they lived were calling them that they sighted the buffalo here, no there, then over there, back down yonder, etc., etc., etc.

They had one little place where they had a concrete bunker..........that was changed to where they made a concrete retaining wall on that whole area. I just laughed my butt off--at least with the angoras, they caught their damned heads in the fence and I didn't have to go all over the valley trying to catch up to them little bastards!!!

With any luck, she'll begin removing Ron Paul supporters completely, otherwise she just might get a visit from federal law enforcement. Ron Paul supporters are seditious in thought if not deed and need to be watched. They are potential domestic terrorists and any right thinking American would be wary of interacting with them.

Oh yeah, baby! Let that freeeeedom ring!

I'd sure like to think so. However, most Ameircans are as dumb as stumps so I'm not too sure it won't go completely over their heads. I can't remember where it was but I watched something on TV a few months back where people on the street were asked to read a bunch of statements. They were then asked where those statements came from. Almost all of them said it was from the Bill of Rights. In reality it was from the ten planks of the Communist Manifesto. When informed of this, none of the people even blinked an eye. They hadn't a clue of what the Communist Manifest was.

I fully agree. And many of them would vote for 'independent' Paul rather than waste their vote on Hillary.

I see you changing the goalpost each time your argument is slammed. Why is that? LOL :)) Maybe slammed in your mind.

We still need to understand how RP wins the GOP nomination. Is he going to carry... what? California? Florida? Pennsylvania? Ohio?

I don't think so. His only chance to win the presidency is by separating himself from that gang of crooks and murderers. Do you think that he should have joined the Nazis if that was convenient?

Give me your address, I'll send you a box of Depends.

Sorry babe,

But if this is what you call 'slamming' other people's 'arguments', then your debating skills must fit right at the Nintendo's Wee W'estling (minor leagues) level.

Or maybe you are one of those feeble-minded people who spend their meager savings on the 'Secret' book or DeeVeeDee, talking themselves into believing that all it takes it's to 'just believe' and it will all just happen?

My meager savings, and how they are spent are none of your business, but you and your kind feel free assume what they are, and that is your greatest mistake. Now, you take yourself from an independent thinker to the shill you actually are.

I believe I've been contributing my wisdom here for 2-3 years and, as far as I can recall, there were only 2 creeps who reacted with invectives to my calm, well-thought, thought-provoking, inquisitive arguments. Both of them unloaded their worthless verbiage on this very thread. Would you try to guess who they are? This is so unlike the 4um because this site tends to be the meeting place of intelligent, open-minded, civilized people who respect each other and each others' views.

Somehow, I don't believe that Mr. Paul appreciates or seeks the support of dog-like, irrational, confused individuals. I would be surprised if it turned out that what he wanted was large numbers of goose-stepping, empty headed pawns for him to manipulate. But, I guess, that is inevitable when we are dealing with large numbers.

'Learn freedom of speech' :)) Funny, funny, funny.

Anyways, exchanging views with other people and learning from them is something that one learns and one gets better at. Like I said, there is no viable scenario for RP to win the GOP nomination.

I recently exchange some views with someone who published an article at the LewRockwell site, stating that RP just MIGHT get nominated by the GOP. I believe that she was actually a math PhD. Her premise was that 80-100% of all RP's GOP supporters would actually vote in the primaries while everyone else's supporters would participate at a 2-5% rate. She did admit to me that her assumption was not very realistic. She wrote: "the wildcard is how motivated Paul supporters are to vote, which is where my analysis may fall apart. "

Someone else who contributes to that site, to Antiwar and others and who recently wrote an article predicting RP's eventual victory, wrote me the following: "I deliberately try to be optimistic and depict it as a final matchup view to try and drum some sense into these Republicans' heads about who should be their man." He then continued - and PAY ATTENTION BECAUSE HE IS TALKING ABOUT YOUR KIND HERE: "What is likely to happen, however, if he starts to be a threat, is that his supporters will be infiltrated by the statists with some violent people who will do something uncouth and the media will blame it on him, end of story."

Some foods for thoughts.

Let's hope that you a right and RP, somehow, finds the guts to run as an independent and that his staying for too long with the GOPs will not significantly diminish his appeal to his natural base, which is the non-aligned citizens. I still believe that the proper time for him to leave the GOPs is right before the primaries.

I want no part of buffalo--you just about need a solid concrete 6 - 8 ft high retaining wall to keep them in.

Near where I lived in Maryland was a small ranch that had buffalo, or what looked like them. They were fenced in with a normal post rail fence, maybe with barbed wire addition. Thought many times of stopping to get a good close up look.

I have seen such 'fencing', too..........but having had cattle and traditional 5-strand barbed wire fencing that they took occasion to get thru, and generally in the nighttime hours, or late evening, I suggest that only fools have such fencing for buffalo....unless, of course, they enjoy 'cowboying' at ll:30 pm, or 2:am after neighbors bitch that their yard has been innundated, or that their cattle herd has been infiltrated by a bunch of pissed off or unhappy buffalo. :)

Goldi,

Long time...

When we started LP, the it was because FR did not allow freedom of speech, banning people because of their dissenting views. It was the aftermath of 911, and they were banning posters that didn't tow the war line. You wanted a place that respected people's legitimate opinions no matter what they were and we made LP.

And now look what YOU have become. Sure it's your site here and you can do what you want, but.... look at what you have become.

Up until today I liked him.

Every person that I know of that truly likes Ron Paul would never stop liking him because of heavy postings about him. Ergo, I cannot find any way to believe your claim. You even igore the fact that most of those postings were ANTI Ron Paul. Blaming RP supporters for what his detractors have done is clearly not something you would do if you liked Ron Paul.

Have bandwidth costs really broken limits? When I was here such popularity was considered a blessing. So now LP has become TOO popular for your tastes, and you now have to figure out ways to make it less popular? If this is really true then you've indeed changed a lot.

And you blame the extra bandwidth usage on RP supporters? Knowing how the software works, I'm not sure you can possibly know that to be the case, apart from scanning the web log files into a database, and then cross indexing the article numbers to the subject they discuss. That's a substantial task to put it mildly, and one that certainly has not been done.

Indeed, Ron Paul would not support Israel, which certainly is reason for you not to like him. But you know he's the only candidate that honors the Constitution, something you used to want in a presidential candidate.

Ron Paul is the most honorable candidate for any federal office in the last 50 or 100 years. That you, who know and admire John Kotmair for all his sacrifice for the cause of liberty to slam this door shut on the only candidate that would respect the Constitution is obscene.

I've raised my eyebrows a number of times at things you've done since I left, but always respected your decisions as your perogative (of course). This time, however, a once in a life-time pro-Constitutional candidate like Ron Paul has a chance of getting elected, you not only refuse to help, but you use your power to quash news about him. Sorry, but I can't let that pass without comment.

You have become everything that you once despised in FR. Your actions show you have completely betrayed what you once valued. If you ever knew John Kotmair, you don't know him anymore or anything he or any of the original founders stood for.

You have betrayed liberty itself.

What she says is that it is 'possible' that the intensity of RP's GOP supporters is so great that they would come to vote in primaries en masse while everybody else's supporters are going to be demoralized and apathetic. This is a lot of wishful thinking. I believe that Buchanan got away with something like this ONCE and Dean couldn't win even one of his party's contests even though his supporters were quite enthusiastic.

The only problem with that place is the possibility of another US invasion, possibly preceded by a little bit of carpet bombing or maybe some nice cruise missiles landings. But, then again, I had a nice B-2 flying at less than 2-3000 ft over my house a couple of months ago so... it could happen anywhere.

Our bandwidth has gone from $240 to $365 for the past two months,

So she's bitching that her site is becoming more popular eh? Well with her latest action, I think she's sort of guaranteed not to have to worry about that for much longer.

If she truly wanted to eliminate a huge amount of senseless spam, she'd immediately ban ByteShredder and sardine sandwich. Since she gives each of those trolls free reign over her forum and allows them to harrass and intimidate other posters on her forum whenever they wish, we can see that she has no concern about bandwidth or rules.

She has to be well aware that sardine sandwich/happy fun balls/cone of silence/etc. is the same person, and IF she wanted to, could easily see that he's a returning bannee and get rid of him immediately once he signs back up

Obviously, that is not in her plans. And just as obvious is how she overlooks byteshredder's continuous spamming of her forum, his obscene personal attacks against other posters on a regular basis, and his total disregard for the forum rules.

I sometimes wonder if Fun Balls/sardine/boilerplate et al is actually Goldi. The character has the run of the place and seems to have access to an unlimited number of name changes. Goldi periodically goes through the charade of banning the character to keep the board happy, but as you noted, the character immediately pops up again with a new name. Given that Fun Balls is about as hard to spot as byeltsin, I'm sure Goldi knows what is going on.

"She's out of work? I thought Goldi supposedly worked for some business to do with the military industrial complex.. if any business is booming its that.. "

She worked on the now retired F14 fighter which we are or have destroyed instead of mathballing. I guess because all the billions we spent on them was chump change and trivial.

I know that I don't wish her ill and hope she gets employment, but I would fire her as torch holder for free speech at LP. She is more like a 'PU, something stinks,' then an LP owner, defender of freedom of speech and home of the town crier for discussion of news and events that efect us all.

You have betrayed liberty itself.

Very well said, Neil.

You have become everything that you once despised in FR. Your actions show you have completely betrayed what you once valued. If you ever knew John Kotmair, you don't know him anymore or anything he or any of the original founders stood for.

You have betrayed liberty itself.

I dont wish her ill either.. far from it. I hope she prospers financially .. and life treats her well.

On the free speech issue..on that I do take issue .. for its one thing to say your site is for free exchange of ideas and discussion quite another if in practice it's the opposite.. People make mistakes in judgment but its one thing to make an error but.. this IMHO is not an error in judgment but was done with eyes wide open.. we here at 4 get criticized from time to time because we allow free speech and open discussion here.. what is funny is that I see similar posts on LP but does anyone attack that site in the same manner? No.. seems people talk their BS about free speech then turn around and criticize those who actually walk the walk so to speak.. They use all types of ridiculous accusations and toss around personal attacks accuse us with all types of trash and name calling.. Yawn.. let them rant.. it reveals more about them than it does us. We will continue to permit free expression for where does one draw the line? Its not for us to be the thought police..

I think Goldi is wrong for banning all discussion of Ron Paul. What she should do is allow the discussion and then let me and the guys make up bullshit stories about him.

Sheesh, the place goes to hell the moment I leave.

By the way, did I tell you guys I got a hummer?

Goldi banned aristeides and never gave the reason why (because there was no good reason).

She knows exactly what she's doing, and it has nothing to do with liberty.

She gave one reason.. which was so bizarre that Im still shaking my head over it..something about aristeides linking to a site I believe it was farsi not sure but accused him of linking to site that could be thought to be a terrorist site.. what on earth was that?

Goldi banned me from posting articles after I posted Riverbend's entry discussing a Baghdad Sunni girl being raped by some progov Shias. She also removed the thread.

I am trying not to trash other sites or personally attack other people but that was quite bizarre.

I think I do remember that.. There were also some videos posted about some women who were raped by US soldiers.. I think I recall her saying it was from a porn site.. if I remember correctly there were two videos.. and IMO they were videos from Iraq..

The 4um recruitment drive over on LP has paid off. Many new posters have registered on 4um over the past couple of days. But so far, no one is posting. I heard there might be a welcome thread tomorrow evening where the newbys can come on and try out the place.
