There's a lot of conflict on LibertyPost right now regarding Goldi's new Ron Paul rule. A lot of people think its unfair to ban discussion of a particular candidate - and it probably is.

I have a suggestion for solving the problem. Goldi should just ban all political discussion on Libertypost. Discussion should be limited to a bunch of guys sitting around calling each other fags and muzbots - and maybe telling each other to shut up.

This would be fair to everyone and it wouldn't really change the content of the site that much.

I would be curious to hear what others think of this.

After reading the remark Goldi made about bandwidth costs I think that she is either ignorant or a liar. I work in a data center, and I've also had plenty of dealings with other hosting companies. For what she claims to be paying for bandwidth they should be throwing in a dedicated server. Hardware and bandwidth cost a fraction of what they used to.

I have a dedicated server on the net with effectively unlimited bandwidth, and I pay a flat $200/month.

It's so infected it's probably lost, without a clean sweep. Goldi let it go to hell.

I agree. It's nothing but a running food fight anymore, there are so few people there I can discuss issues with who are willing to be even remotely honest. It's pointless to argue with people who aren't interested in truth.

That's what they have...a dedicated server.

Liberty Post is offered for use as the modern day electronic "town crier" or "broadside." As such, all political news and discussion, as well as current events, news of the day, scientific, medical and technical advances are welcome for discussion. We do not limit discussion to any specific political point of view, since truth can only exist where there is freedom to discuss those issues. There is no censorship of political ideas here.

We do insist that all users abide by the rules of civility. We challenge all users to exercise their manners in the way our Founding Fathers did. Our audience will be made of men, and women of all ages, as well as teens, and educated youngsters. As such, we insist that manners must be adhered to, in order to respect each other. No past personal issues or grievances will be allowed to interrupt discussions of the news and current events.

Should any user defy the rules of civility, exercise poor manners, their rudeness, personal attacks, intended disruptions, and mean-spirited actions will be rewarded with a revocation of rights of participation, which can be temporary or permanent, but no political point of view will be censored under any circumstances.

Spirited debate, varied opinions and points of view are the lifeblood of Liberty. We welcome you to our site and challenge you to participate in the exercise of your First Amendment rights in debating political issues! But caution is advised: this Liberty can be addicting, and the experience of open political dialog that may cause you to be exposed to ideas and people that can change your life dramatically.

How can she not be embarrased by her censorship? I mean, she HAS to see that what she's done is exactly opposite of her own 'mission statement' if you will. A site that is strictly for political discussion banning threads about a presidential candidate? That's ridiculous.

I signed up on LP before I really did any exploring to see what the place was about, and I have to say, I was shocked at what I encountered. I've been on a few forums but I've never seen anything as dysfunctional as LP. I guess, from the stories I've heard there, it's a good thing I didn't sign on at FR.

As soon as I saw Goldi's post, I voiced my displeasure and left, and I won't go back. It might be different if a person could have an honest, open and adult dscussion with those you might disagree with, but that is impossible there.

Well you may not need to worry about going back. LP's been down for about 15 minutes now. Who knows, maybe Goldi had another one of her breakdowns and pulled the plug on the whole shebang. Now THAT would be funny.

Hi crockett...

The suppression of posts re any candidate IMO is more than contemptible .. if one candidate is banned then all should be.. if Goldi portrays LP as a site for 'debating political issues' then what transpired is beyond just being hypocritical..it's fraudulent.

To be honest, I couldn't afford to get in on the November 5 money bomb, but I'll damn sure find a way to get in on the one in December. It's not a matter of being "easy" anymore. It might not be a lot, but it will be there on my part.

I think the NUMBER of people who donate, however small, is very important. It shows we are many and ordinary. Remember they said the internet support was a scam driven by only a dozen people! They couldn't say that after Nov 5th.

Orange...

What counts is love of country, not amount of money sent.

We have far too many people here that rant on about the evil government but when money is mentioned, they are gone.

Proof??

This country was born of a Revolutionary War. Thirty percent did the bleeding and dying, the rest sat back like vultures waiting to join the victor.

Times change but people do not.

You can donate small amounts. If you can't do the $100, the site will let you do $25. I think giving the small amount helps as it increases the donar count. And if everyone gave at least $25 that would be a huge sum.

Yep. They now say that among his supporters are extremists. Since Ron Paul doesn't want to send $$ to foreign countries (including Israel), THE Lobby doesn't like him. ADL is very concerned. So fake.

I wonder who some of Hillary's supporters are.
