Title: A Solution for LibertyPost

There's a lot of conflict on LibertyPost right now regarding Goldi's new Ron Paul rule. A lot of people think its unfair to ban discussion of a particular candidate - and it probably is.

I have a suggestion for solving the problem. Goldi should just ban all political discussion on Libertypost. Discussion should be limited to a bunch of guys sitting around calling each other fags and muzbots - and maybe telling each other to shut up.

This would be fair to everyone and it wouldn't really change the content of the site that much.

I would be curious to hear what others think of this.

Other than the name calling, which would continue, there would be a massive amount of debate over what was political.

It's so infected it's probably lost, without a clean sweep. Goldi let it go to hell.

Shutting down is most likely the solution, either temp or perm.

Posting stupid graphics would also be allowed. But only if the graphics had been posted somewhat continuously since 2003 and as long as the graphics were: (1) Insulting, (2) moronic and (3) linked to a server with a Perl script to harvest IP addresses.

I do see yukon is using the crying baby one.

Thank God. Because if he got rid of that, I wouldn't know where to go to find it. The classics are the best.

I personally love the mock WWll ones, that have been used over and over again since 2001.

gee, where have i seen this before?

internet curmudgeon and tyrant wanna be uses emotional flatulence to drive off the creator and originator of site...cuz when she's in charge things are gonna be done better!

so, she gets the keys, and, to showcase her incompetence, lack of any real ability and intellectual banality (which no one could ever have done any more thoroughly) she drives it right into the crapper.

why, that sounds precisely like any other garden variety bureacrat, or even a microcosm of the political party and president she supports....very strange....lie with dogs, wake with fleas (and not to mention the black plague of a spiritual variety)

wanna bet her home and personal life is in equally splendid condition?

the parallels between her and bush are fairly striking.

the only thing left for a failed, incompetent tyrant to do is get angry, blame everyone else, and go off to sulk.

i would recommend a dozen or so more cats, buying jim beam by the bargeload, and a visit to the local mental health professional to deal with the breakdown of reality and the glaring proof, all around, that you were once again wrong because its the only thing you've ever really been good or consistent at.

Why in the fuck are we on Freedom 4um, even talking about these stupid fuckers on Liberty Post?

Nobody should honestly give a flying fuck on a rolling goddamned donut about those people. Between them, and FreiRepublik, I don't know which is the bigger joke to free speech.

We should ban all talk of those other abominations they call websites, for the simple reason that it wastes the bandwidth of THIS Website.

This is the ONLY website where I have seen NO abridgement of free speech. The others, suck sour frog ass, and would only be relevant to reality if Christine or someone else from here peed on them.

I think that would work and it would nicely occupy the other half of the precious bandwidth.

The first half on the bandwidth is already taken by discussions of what is, should, couldn't, must not be posted as 'breaking news'.

A big bone of contention on every forum that has the meaningless category.

That's why there is no such category here.

The last article posted is, by default, the breaking news.

It might just be breaking wind, but there's a chance that it really is breaking news and people will respond to the post accordingly.

After reading the remark Goldi made about bandwidth costs I think that she is either ignorant or a liar. I work in a data center, and I've also had plenty of dealings with other hosting companies. For what she claims to be paying for bandwidth they should be throwing in a dedicated server. Hardware and bandwidth cost a fraction of what they used to.

Liberty Post is offered for use as the modern day electronic "town crier" or "broadside." As such, all political news and discussion, as well as current events, news of the day, scientific, medical and technical advances are welcome for discussion. We do not limit discussion to any specific political point of view, since truth can only exist where there is freedom to discuss those issues. There is no censorship of political ideas here.

We do insist that all users abide by the rules of civility. We challenge all users to exercise their manners in the way our Founding Fathers did. Our audience will be made of men, and women of all ages, as well as teens, and educated youngsters. As such, we insist that manners must be adhered to, in order to respect each other. No past personal issues or grievances will be allowed to interrupt discussions of the news and current events.

Should any user defy the rules of civility, exercise poor manners, their rudeness, personal attacks, intended disruptions, and mean-spirited actions will be rewarded with a revocation of rights of participation, which can be temporary or permanent, but no political point of view will be censored under any circumstances.

Spirited debate, varied opinions and points of view are the lifeblood of Liberty. We welcome you to our site and challenge you to participate in the exercise of your First Amendment rights in debating political issues! But caution is advised: this Liberty can be addicting, and the experience of open political dialog that may cause you to be exposed to ideas and people that can change your life dramatically.

How can she not be embarrased by her censorship? I mean, she HAS to see that what she's done is exactly opposite of her own 'mission statement' if you will. A site that is strictly for political discussion banning threads about a presidential candidate? That's ridiculous.

I signed up on LP before I really did any exploring to see what the place was about, and I have to say, I was shocked at what I encountered. I've been on a few forums but I've never seen anything as dysfunctional as LP. I guess, from the stories I've heard there, it's a good thing I didn't sign on at FR.

As soon as I saw Goldi's post, I voiced my displeasure and left, and I won't go back. It might be different if a person could have an honest, open and adult dscussion with those you might disagree with, but that is impossible there.

Well you may not need to worry about going back. LP's been down for about 15 minutes now. Who knows, maybe Goldi had another one of her breakdowns and pulled the plug on the whole shebang. Now THAT would be funny.

The suppression of posts re any candidate IMO is more than contemptible .. if one candidate is banned then all should be.. if Goldi portrays LP as a site for 'debating political issues' then what transpired is beyond just being hypocritical..it's fraudulent.

We have far too many people here that rant on about the evil government but when money is mentioned, they are gone.

You can donate small amounts. If you can't do the $100, the site will let you do $25. I think giving the small amount helps as it increases the donar count. And if everyone gave at least $25 that would be a huge sum.

Have you attended any "events" yet, or does it all really start tomorrow?

I'm glad you have a way of getting on here. I hope you can keep us updated... I WISH I could be there!

But it's fun to contrast them with Ron Paul's "extremists".

Think we can get some actual video of Podhoretz praying for war with Iran?

On the back, the artist explains the picture this way:

"The Ron Paul bandwagon takes off, hauled by those two sturdy reliable horses, Aurum and Argent. The sheep and asses stuck inside the fence aren't paying attention, but those clever independent cats sure do like the music!" --Joe Alexander.

He also lists why Ron Paul Must be elected President in which he sites his congressional record.

Is Ron Paul going to be on the primary ballot in your county? I thought it was a given, but luckily was asked to sign a petition to get him on the ballot after being told he wasn't and I needed to sign...

Do you have a Ron Paul meetup group in your county?

They are pissed, that the people who use the Internet for their main communication/news/networking, support Ron Paul.

They should get over it already. The other candidates are too stupid to utilize this power, are frauds, and their supporters are old and clueless. There is no spamming, it's popular opinion within a demographic.

Either except this as fact, or crawl in a hole.

There is no talking head in ANY of this, it's all run by individuals in the MeetUp community. I have not received ONE email from the headquarters, telling me what to do.

They can't handle it. It's completely out of their control.

Goldi is obsessed with Israel SO MUCH, that she is THROWING AWAY HER OWN COUNTRY for the sake of this ONE ISSUE!!

Look, I don't give a shit about Israel, any more than any other country out there. I don't hate it, I don't love it. I don't care. But she tooted her own horn for years, claiming she was against the IRS, pro Constitution, and pro-life, etc. etc. AND A CANDIDATE EXACTLY ALONG THOSE LINES SHOWS UP....thanks to the people of America. And because of this ONE ISSUE OF ISRAEL, WHAT DOES SHE DO? She pulls this garbage, and becomes neo-con.

Made two blankets with two more almost finished. I need to take pictures to show. Got my Christmas card designed but I need to clean off a table to make them.

But I will be done with LP issues in about 3 days, I am thinking.

Doesn't faze me really. I understand the need to do so, did so myself right after getting banned there. I'm certainly not going to act like others did, leave here in a huff and start bashing the place. It'll blow over and gives me a chance to say hi to old friends.

Supposedly I announced to LP that I was leaving to post over here. I made no such announcement and at the time was posting at about 5 different sites. There is a thread about it here somewhere. I can look it up if you want. But here is Goldi's post.

I agree. I even see benefits to having two owners with conflicting views, but understand how hard that can be on them. Because we are going into an election year....

.....lots of neo-cons are coming here from Bot Central and other sites to try to disrupt the campaigns of everybody but the anointed RINO."

There,I fixed that sentence for you. Folks, let's face it. It ain't really long- term LP posters causing these problems. It's the idiots from Bot Central dragging their old ways over here with them.

It's funny you should post such a poignant and very timely reply, as that is exactly why I left Freedom4um.

Change can be good, it can be bad. For me, coming back over here will hopefully be good.

I never saw the problem with it. The software here is fast enough to allow multiple posts on multiple threads to be executed concurrently. Why do some people interpret you and I discussing something they don't care about as though we are preventing them from discussing something they do care about?

It's no good getting all in a snit about snoots.

When I was almost ready to sign up at LibertyPost I found out I couldn't use a free web-based email address, and that to me right away indicated that the place was elitist. Then I came over to Freedom4um.com and my web-based email address was accepted. Gee whiz!
