We just ran across this current ad (see on the left) for CNN, "the most trusted name in news," and we have these questions:
Why does a former editor at AIPAC have a job as a news anchor at CNN?
What does it mean to "objective" journalism when an individual with a record as a blatantly pro-Israel propagandist is afforded power to mediate information?
"Over the years the Israelis and their American Jewish friends have spent much time and effort building up the Washington Institute as well as positioning their people in key positions, both in and out of government. A few examples: Wolf Blitzer, former editor of the lobby's newsletter, Near East Report, became Washington correspondent for the Jerusalem Post and then, with much help from "the lobby", was promoted to his current still expanding role at CNN." -- Ross Officially Joins Israeli Lobby, Mid-East Realities, January 19, 2001
"In 1957, Si Kenen started a newsletter Near East Report to inform the public about events relating to the Middle East ... NER began to publish special surveys of pertinent issues. Gradually these analyses grew to book length and were published as Myths and Facts ... With Near East Research's permission, and by popular demand, AICE produced an updated version of this classic text. This version has the advantage of being hyperlinked to the vast resources available in our Jewish Virtual Library and is constantly updated as new events occur ... I would like to acknowledge the contributions of the distinguished group of past editors: Sheila Segal, Wolf Blitzer, Alan Tigay, Moshe Decter, M.J. Rosenberg, Jeff Rubin, Eric Rozenman, Lenny Davis and Joel Himelfarb." - Myths & Facts Online,
