We need ideas and people who are willing to create a great Ron Paul advertisement that we all pay for and place in a New Hampshire newspaper, ASAP!
More info will follow as to how to make your donations to pay for the advertisement. If you are interested in helping with the actual creative work involved please contribute your ideas on this thread.
This will be a joint effort for anyone who wishes to be involved.
This thread will serve as the story board to create the advertisement.

My 2 cents .. is a group project but here is my input Not too word.. simple is better.. the Ron Paul Revolution should be on it in some way.. b/c that is the campaign slogan.. also a LARGE photo of Paul would be good IMO

:P I used to make pamphlets and ads when I worked in my former job.. too many words and people get on overload and just move on.. few words... one MAYBE two photos but thats it.. also his name needs to be LARGE for thats what is wanted NAME recognition .. and to connect the slogan to the name

Not bad - better than my feeble efforts. You have better layout tools too. Given Hitlery's high negatives even among the Dem's makes the case as to how stark the choice is. I still like my "tag line" though - tweaking it: "In The Spirit of Liberty - Ron Paul '08". My reasoning being that one of the high positives of Ron Paul is his adherence to the Constitution and Jeffersonian principles. That is a connection that seems to run consistently through his appeal. Perhaps across the the bottom 2 font sizes up from the basic text. I would bring the the votes against the Patriot Act and the Real ID closer to the top - just under the opposition to the war. My reasoning being that we want to establish a connection with people who are not yet Ron Paul Voters. In the same vein I would suggest bringing the Bill of Rights up to the number 2 slot under Bring home the troops immediately. Also as a suggestion would be to add a little to it i.e., "Honor the Consitution and Restore the Bill of Rights". That of course connects with the "In The Spirit of Liberty" tag line.
excellent suggestions..now, since the ad is limited to 4x6, will the text be too tiny to see?
We may have to do some pruning. Certainly the anti-war, and pro-Bill of Rights should stay. While eliminating the FED is important to those of us already aware of the bigger issues moving the current scene to someone not up on it abolishing the FED, even if they know what it is, is an issue who's significance would, from simple lack of knowledge, elude them. Condensing it down to a list like Wudidiz's would work within the size limitations.
As promised: I need a proofreader to double check my spelling. I can read it a thousand times and not see the obvious, like just now, I had to change to "candidate" from "candidan". Don't ask how I got that or missed it ten times... lol
RE: The ad imo, the most effective ads/ movements don't begin with a negative. hillery is a negative. Something like: "On January 8th, let us nominate the man who can restore our country to truth, principle and freedom." is better.
My personal feeling is that people don't read newspaper ads unless something grabs their attention. I think the Hillary reference does that. Once we have their attention, she is never mentioned again, only positives about RP. However, I am not an expert.
i agree. it grabs my attention and makes me think, yes, RP is the only republican who can beat hillary. i think that will resonate with GOP voters because that is their biggest fear.
I don't think that's RP's message and I caution against that tactic.
My two bits... Ron Pauls platform is.."The Constitution"... I admit I stole that from somewhere. If he stands on the Constitution, how can anyone argue with that?

Regarding this ^ one: 1. Wonder if that's the best picture? 2. 'conservative' capitalized? 3. Perhaps 'true' & 'real' capitalized? 4. Maybe 'A True Conservative - a Real Republican'? or 'A TRUE CONSERVATIVE - A REAL REPUBLICAN'? or 'A True Conservative, a Real Republican'? 5. Instead of diamonds in front of each of the 12 points, 6. Capitalize the beginning of each sentence? 7. 'Increase' has an 'e' on the end of it. 8. 'Internet' capitalized. 9. Comma after '2008'. 'Kay, I'm done nit-picking. It's getting closer to perfection. Thank you all for letting me be a part of this, and thank you, Critter, for the most EXCELLENT work!

i like #2. i think US PRESIDENT HILLARY CLINTON is an attention grabber and i like how Critter personalizes it by asking, does it scare you? it scares us. referring to us, it will make readers want to know who us is. i think the ad does two things which is our goal. it advertizes Ron Paul and Freedom4um both.

Most things are "easy" to folks who know what they're doing. Like some people seem to be able to just "get it" with programs like Photoshop or Gimp (Linux equivalent/better) but I can't make heads nor tails of either of them. Guess photo manipulation on sophisticated software isn't up my alley.
All it takes is practice. I'm not a geek. In 1998 I didn't know what html was. I did a google on it. Tried a few minor things, then got a little fancier, and then fancier. Then I had to work with images. So I got a free download of Serif Photo Plus 6, and fiddled with that. Sure it was a pain to find my way, but eventually I did. Then I upgraded a few times, but never to the latest version. I always bought the sale copy of the previous version, so I have a grand total of $40 invested, I think. Serif has a support forum, so when I run into a brick wall trying to create an effect, I would post it there and get an answer in short order. I haven't used it in a while, but I bet it is still active.
Thanks Critter. Do you know anything about Gimp? That is what I have (that and some other things--I have had a LITTLE success with showfoto but it isn't complicated). Here is something I did with showfoto and ksnapshot (screenshot of my computer). edited to shrink size a bit

Yes. It's been a while but that is what I did it with. I posted it one time on a linux board I used to post on and one of the moderators who hated me for reasons unknown removed it and claimed that it was a copyright violation. He was the only guy on that board that I ever had any real problems with, but then he didn't hate just me, he hated almost everyone. Had one of the worst attitudes you could imagine for a moderator. I don't post there anymore and haven't in a long time.

You might like this one--I didn't take the time I should have to change the color of the lettering but I should have. Mainly I just wanted to see if I remembered how to do what I did with the other one. If you can't make out what it says under the pic it says "Ghetto Chicks."
