Mike Huckabee, the Republican presidential candidate and former Southern Baptist minister, is getting help from Tim LaHaye, the Christian conservative organizer and co-author of the apocalyptic “Left Behind” novels. “America and our Judeo-Christian heritage are under attack by a force that is more destructive than any America has faced” since Hitler, Dr. LaHaye and his wife, Beverly, wrote in letters sent to lists of conservative Christians in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. “Defeating the radical jihadists will require renewed resolve and spiritual rearmament by the evangelical pastors in America.”[..] This can hardly be described as a positive development, though I’m not sure how much direct effect the LaHayes will have. Voters don’t typically look to novelists for political guidance (even if LaHaye’s been a conservative activist for decades), and the CWA is one of those aging, increasingly irrelevant groups of social conservatives. America= "Judeo-Christian heritage" - neoconism phrase that has become a popular mantra as of late coming out of the yaps of La Hayes end-timers as well as from talk-radio jocks and from MSM tele-prompter readers. Lest we forget, what with the mind-numbing Thanksgiving shopping hooplah, that America's heritage can be traced to the Pilgrims ( like them or not), Christians all. There was no significant Jewish contingent on the Mayflower, regardless of what La Haye and Michael Savage and Sean Hannity and others might suggest.

I started a post on that subject earlier today, and decided not to post it...maybe I should reconsider. I've been harboring the suspicion for some time now, that the Mayflower probably DID have a significant Jewish contingent aboard, including some of Bush's ancestors. But our history did not start with the Pilgrims. It started at Jamestown.

My point in msg.#11 was to state that America's cultural heritage is Christian - not Judeo-Christian. I don't know what your point is - yes, perhaps there were a few Jews who came with the Christians in our nation's formative years - but those numbers of Jews would have been so small it would not represent any justifiable reason or good cause for the neocon yapsters to call our heritage "Judeo-Christian." Give me a break. This latest shopping of phony "Judeo-Christian" hertiage schtick is purely to manipulate the general public into believing our nation's heritage had some kind of Judaic input into its formative years and therefore and thusly we owe something back in keeping Izzy Thug State afloat. We don't owe Jews a thing for our heritage. Zero, nada, zilch. I don't dispute Judeo heritage being associated with the ME or with North Africa or even with Spain - absolutely, yes - but America? - no. Frankly I could care less whether Bush's family tree included Jewish elements - heck if Jews want to put claims on dubya, great! - I'm sick and tired of hearing that dumboinchief is a Christian. Let dubya be labelled as a Jew, a Hindu, an athiest - anything but a Christian - let other religious groups experience some shame and embaressment with being associated with the village idiot on the lam from Texas for a change.
