Plus, that beats the hell out of Donna Summer...not gonna let you live that down for, say, another week or so). :)

OK - I knew I was putting a frog on a anthill with that post!

Birds twittering in the trees outside my window, the occasional laughter of children, tire-on-road noise of an infrequently passing car, the cyclic hum of a small fan calling me to disassemble it and lube the motor shaft again...

Metus improbos compescit, non clementia.

What am I listening to currently?

This.

When you go to the page, click below the "Neon Macaw" logo on the "Click here to play song" text. You'll get to hear an interesting song called "Oasis Promenade". Let me know what you think of it.

Gold and silver are real money, paper is but a promise.

If you go to the right of the Neon Macaw logo and look for the "Download" button, you should be able to download the song directly. Try left and/or right clicking on it.

a small fan calling me to disassemble it

Uh-oh. Bush warned us about "people that had been trained in some instances to disassemble."

I've seen their ways too often for my liking.

On their debut album.

At the time, my own tastes tended more to British folk rock. I went into a record store for Steeleye Span, and they gave me Steely Dan.

I like Steely Dan, and musicians hold them in high regard.
