Officer William Nelson discovered the girl was ditching school, drinking alcohol and smoking pot. When nelson tried to take her back to school, she ran from him and out into traffic. According to Nelson's police report, that's when he stunned her, saying it was for his and her safety. "It felt like I couldn't breath, couldn't breath, they did mess up, they did mess up, obviously they did, because I'm underage and all I did was skip school, which is something everyone has done, and I know that for a fact," says Sylvana Gomez. This is the second time a Miami-Dade officer has used a taser on a child in less than a week. Last week, another officer used a taser on a six-year-old boy. Christ, I did that all the time in high school and ended up graduating college and becoming a newspaper editor. It's not like what she did was out of the ordinary.

Doesn't take much these days to feel 50,000 volts flowing through your body, even if you're just a kid...
What would u have officer Wilie Nelson do? Sing her a song?? She'll survive and be better off for the experience given the frequency of police tasering of late.
A) Skipping school should not be punishable by electroshock. Sounds a lot like Nam: let us destroy a village in order to save it.

B) Cops should be HELPING little 12 year-old girls, not shooting them with 50,000 volt darts that can and DO cause death.
C) Don't cops have more important things to do?
