Citizens sit idly by as U.S. collapses under Bush

By DEB CRIVARO For the Courier-Post

I don't understand how the majority of people in this country can be so apathetic and ignorant. The United States is slowly collapsing; it is a travesty of what this country once stood for, and yet no one seems to care enough to do anything about it.

Our rights have been eroded little by little while the citizens sit idly by and say nothing. Football games are more important to most people than how our government is screwing up this country. Spewing propaganda

King Bush is now poking Iran with a stick. He is itching to invade this country for the same reason he wanted to invade Iraq -- oil. He is spewing propaganda about how if Iran gets nuclear capabilities, they will start World War III. That is utter bull and anyone with an iota of common sense knows that.

Iran has done nothing wrong. The International Atomic Energy Commission (IAEC) has stated it is in complete compliance and has no violations. Bush's government is a "do as I say and not as I do" government.

The United States has thousands of nuclear power plants all across the country. Who is Bush to tell another country it cannot have the same? Bush is trying to scare the populace with stories of Iran using nukes on us. Iran does not want to start a nuclear war.

Any country would be foolish to do so and they know it. The real truth is the United States has more nukes than any other country in the world and enough to annihilate the entire world 20 times over. And contrary to what our government claims, and in violation of the nuclear nonproliferation treaty, it continues to develop them. Again, do as I say and not as I do.

The only country anyone should worry about starting World War III is the United States. This government loves to instigate. It has done so recently not just with Iran, but with Russia and China, too. Big mistake, since China owns a lot of our debt. If it gets agitated and pulls its money, the U.S. will collapse into a pile of rubble. Warmonger

Bush is a warmonger. He invaded a country (Iraq) unprovoked. He wants to do the same to Iran, and again, telling us lies to try to summon support from the citizens.

Please do not fall for the propaganda; not again. Do we really want another war? Who benefits? Not us, certainly. We lose our sons and daughters and husbands and wives. Our gas prices and other expenses continue to skyrocket. Bush and his cronies gain money and power.

Do a little research and find out how much money was awarded to all Bush's pals in military contracts. It's in the billions. Another war would drain this country dry. We are already trillions in debt and Bush's war expenses get higher and higher each month.

This war has cost U.S. citizens about $600 billion. Did you know instead of using that money for war and killing, it could have paid for complete health care for every man, woman and child in this country for years? It shows you where our good old government's priorities are, doesn't it?

Our infrastructure is falling apart. The mortgage/housing industry is collapsing. Millions of people cannot afford to get the proper health care or medicines. Rights disappear

Smart kids who would love to go to college and have a good career can't because they cannot afford the huge expenses. Our taxes get higher and higher, yet we get less and less for them. Our rights disappear overnight with the flick of a pen.

We have to watch everything we say and do because someone, somewhere, will be offended. Crime is rampant. Many of our seniors must choose between food and their medicine. We are heading toward a recession.

Bush's focus is on conquering other countries when he should take care of this country's problems first. U.S. citizens should be his priority. Sadly though, we are nothing but bodies to be thrown into war and money trees to be plucked at will.

I only hope the American people will take their eyes off the football games long enough to take a good look around and see where this country is headed. The rest of the world does not look favorably upon us. Our president is a megalomaniac.

George Washington once stated, "Stay out of foreign affairs." If only King Bush would have listened to that great advice. Oh, since now if you dare to criticize the government you can be considered a "terrorist," I wouldn't be surprised if I am whisked away in the dead of night and thrown into Guantanamo for the next 20 years.

Hmmm . . . didn't they do that in the communist U.S.S.R? Banish you to Siberia if you dared to speak out against the government? Scary, huh.

This is just plain wrong, unless she's counting smoke detectors or something.

A trillion and a half, and the cost will be much higher as the DU poisoning kicks in.

And what has it cost the people of Iraq????

How? I can tell the author how.

Half the men are more concerned about football than who is running the country, and half the women are more concerned with the dozen pretty young white women or children who disappear each year.

Other than the 'nuclear plant' snafu, it's a great article, imo.

Thanks for posting.

Impending Destruction of the US Economy
globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=7508
If the subprime mortgage meltdown is half as bad as predicted, low US interest rates will be required in order to contain the crisis. But if the dollar’s plight is half as bad as predicted, high US interest rates will be required if foreigners are to continue to hold dollars and to finance US budget and trade deficits. Which will Washington sacrifice, the domestic financial system and over-extended homeowners or its ability to finance deficits? The answer seems obvious. Everything will be sacrificed in order to protect Washington’s ability to borrow abroad. Without the ability to borrow abroad, Washington cannot conduct its wars of aggression, and Americans cannot continue to consume $800 billion dollars more each year than the economy produces.

Suppose other states really do want to stop Bush from further attacks around the world. Their likely steps would be (1) run the price of oil up as high as possible, (2) restrict the production of oil, (3) dump US dollars, (4) stop buying US securities, and (5) switch their reserve currency to Euros.

Bush has very few friends in the world, and the world sees that the dollar is going to have to keep losing value as long as money remains loose. How can they stay in it, when they know it's coming down?

You know, this could be an accurate sub-title for about half the articles posted on 4um.

And anywhere else for that matter.

Great, so Deb wants to trust the same people who are (or intentionally allowing) illegally phone taps, setting up secret prisons across the planet and establishing "free speech zones" to decide whether or not she can have an operation. I don't know how many times I have to tell these fuckwits....this ain't Canada or Europe. The version of "national health care" we'll get here (no matter what we're promised by ANYONE) will be used as a club to beat the shit out of you.

That should shut up those 'constipation' slackers and freeloaders.

Who else has any ailments?

No one?

Problem solved.

People who need health care need treatment. If they can pay, great. If they can't, we have to have a system to deal with that.

This is another article that supports my theory that disgust for the Bush administration has clouded people's judgment to the point where disgust for Bush = America collapsing.

A brutally succinct answer.

Yep, that was my answer as well. When Paris Hilton gets more coverage than the unPatriot Act, we've got a problem. While coverage was centered on the LA wildfire, Orwellian legislation sailed through.

The MSM is all about creating consumers and spewing gossip, not informing the people. Shopping and pill popping are the standard quick fix, but the cost for this has never really been assessed.

I'll agree with that and raise you an objective opinion from an actuary every time the MSM wants to create a fear frenzy to frame crappy freedom snatching legislation.
