Mudboy Slim claims he isn't but still spends all of his time defending Bush and the RP.

Leadpenny now posts on LP. He's definitely not a bushbot.

I think the only people who still use the Bushite phrase "War on Terror" (other than ironically) are Bushbots.

Same goes for supporters of the scheme to privatize Social Security. Even the Republicans aren't talking about that too much since the markets took a dive.

Balderdash, dude...privatization of social security is inevitable. I don't want to be beholden to the Federal Leviathan for my retirement, do you?

If you do, feel free to stick within the present broken system...as fer me, I want OUT...MUD

The system isn't broken. It's the most successful government program of all time. It's facing problems because Bush loots 40% of the pay in to pay for his tax cuts to the wealthy. Were this money put into trust, as it was supposed to be, there would be no problem.

Be careful when you let Rush do your thinking for you. He doesn't have your best interests at heart. Modern conservatism is the wealthiest 2% of the country using a billion dollar propaganda machine to play with the heads of people like you.

Recall in 2004 how you told us how Bush would get the budget balanced? How is he doing with this?

There was never any such intention and there is no "Social Security Trust Fund." Just another scam like the "Federal Reserve," they gave it a name to fool people into believing it was something that it wasn't. Have you actually read any of the cases having to do with Social Security (or more properly, Socialist Insecurity)?

Here is a link to a pretty good article about the alleged Social Security Trust Fund:

Misleading the Public: How the Social Security Trust Fund Really Works

And another one: There Is No Social Security Trust Fund: The Joke's On You

And finally, a short excerpt from a Supreme Court ruling which upheld the validity of what they had to know is a Ponzi scheme and in which they admitted that there is no trust fund, that it all goes into the general revenues.

Title VIII, as we have said, lays two different types of tax, an "income tax on employees" and "an excise tax on employers." The income tax on employees is measured by wages paid during the calendar year. § 801. The excise tax on the employer is to be paid "with respect to having individuals in his employ," and, like the tax on employees, is measured by wages. § 804. Neither tax is applicable to certain types of employment, such as agricultural labor, domestic service, service for the national or state governments, and service performed by persons who have attained the age of 65 years. § 811(b). The two taxes are at the same rate. §§ 801, 804. For the years 1937 to 1939, inclusive, the rate for each tax is fixed at one percent. Thereafter the rate increases 1/2 of 1 percent every three years, until, after December 31, 1948, the rate for each tax reaches 3 percent. Ibid. In the computation of wages, all remuneration is to be included except so much as is in excess of ,000 during the calendar year affected. § 811(a). The income tax on employees is to be collected by the employer, who is to deduct the amount from the wages "as and when paid." § 80a(a). He is indemnified against claims and demands of any person by reason of such payment. Ibid. The proceeds of both taxes are to be paid into the Treasury like internal revenue taxes generally, and are not earmarked in any way. § 807(a).

I know that that the surplus money is not longer put into trust and now goes into the general fund. That's the problem.

One of the first things Bush did was undo the trust the Clinton established and funnel the money back into the general fund. Now about 60% passes through for payment and about 40% is used to help pay for the tax cuts.

I said "If the money was put into a trust" the system would be solvent.
